Re-boot PC
I have a Kawai ES110 piano keyboard. On the instructions that came with the Midi cables, I did instruction 1 and 2 but - no.3 of the instructions states "Adjust the keyboard to MIDI mode". I wasn't sure what to do here - and looking at the keyboard manual page 40 - I couldn't understand what, if anything, I needed to change, so I didn't make any changes. The red light came on one the midi cables were connected to the PC but my Piano Marvel app didn't recognise the keyboard. After doing a re-boot my app recognised the keyboard. As soon as a note is played a blue led light is activated in the 'dongle' of the midi to usb cable. This indicates that the keyboard notes are being transmitted to/received by the PC. Very easy to set up. There is a good photo on the instructions card that shows very clearly how to connect the midi cable to your piano keyboard. (I'm sure that without that photo, I would have done it incorrectly. Thanks for that. The midi cables and 'dongle' look to be of good construction and I'm happy with the overall quality and the price that I paid.

Work on iPad, plug and play.
The big concern with these is whether or not they are going to work, and I'm pleased to say that mine did. No messing about, just plug them in and off you go. (Not like the first -- cheaper -- type that I bought which didn't work at all.) Thanks to the other reviewers who gave me the confidence to try these. For those who care about specific use cases, I'm using these on an iPad with Simply Piano and they work great. Recommended.

I can confirm these are not like the cheap Chinese silver treble clef ones. These work!
This is a shout out to all the musicians. If you've tried those cheap and nasty silver "treble clef" style MIDI USB cables, and are put off using USB/MIDI cables, think again. These _are_ MIDI Class Compliant, and will do as they say on the tin. I needed a MIDI out from my gig laptop to run into various things, a guitar preamp, and my other PC to do some OBS scene changes. Started out by finding an old silver treble clef one in the loft, which worked but wouldn't even recognise my MIDI keyboard at all! So I bought a newer one, and that still didn't do the job, but managed to send MIDI messages out from my gig laptop. just really half arsed, and really poorly designed. It's to do with the opto-isolators and bad programming. Those silver treble clef cables are _not_ MIDI Class Compliant. I can happily report that these ones work absolutely 100% folks, so if you're looking around for a cheap solution to plug that MIDI device in, you can go ahead and get these ones. I've even ordered a spare one (in Blue this time!) to use with my FCB1010. Great job guys!

Cheap, practical midi input to laptop
Bought to connect a keyboard with limited patches to a laptop using Grand Orgue software. Connection was straightforward, Windows 10 drivers appeared with no drama, and the MIDI signals seem accurate. The keyboard sometimes throws a midi related error, but it doesn’t seem to have any impact on functionality. There is noticeable latency which can be distracting when playing, but overall this was an excellent, easy to use and good value for money solution to gaining a huge set of organ sounds and flexibility. The device and connectors seem robust enough, but only time will tell how durable they are.

Worth paying a bit extra
They always say buy cheap buy twice. Had another similar cable which was about half the price of this one. Midi in worked well but it was only when I tried to run a signal the other way that I realised something was wrong. Have had no issues with this item and wish I spent that bit extra earlier!

I use this cable to connect my Yamaha W5 Synthesizer to iPad. It is 1994 model, 76 keys and no usb port to connect to computer or tablet. Only it has Midi In, Out and Thru. And plus I use USB to iPad Lightning connector adapter ( aka camera adapter) as well, to connect iPad. Please follow the instruction for connecting. Cable midi in, goes to synthesizer midi out; and cable midi out, goes to synthesizer midi in. Red light shows your connection is on, and blue shows midi data is on. My old synth converted to something else, it has own sounds and has DAW programs from iPad are all together. Absolutely recommended.
