It's Delish is, let's face it, expensive. That said, their crystallized and sugared ginger product is the bomb, to die for, the bee's knees, hot, spicy, flavorful and thoroughly, massively, addictive. Far from being just for snacking, this ginger can also be used in dishes as is, if you want a little sweet, or after soaking in water of you want to stick to savory only. As provided the product is soft and fresh, and we kept it that way by sealing in proper container (one gripe, truly minor, is the idiocy of the permeable plastic bag. Really?). Love it. Buy it. I love ginger and I can't get it in my small town, so this product suits me fine. The pieces are tender and Delish!! Would definitely recommend.

Very fresh, perfect ginger taste

Pretty good. Better than a couple other sources on Amazon, as fewer of the pieces are too fibrous. A few still are, but not too many. I have found a brand while visiting Canada where the ginger was sourced in China, but apparently that brand cannot sell the Chinese ginger on the USA (Amazon carries their other dried fruit products, but not the ginger). Most of the ginger I can find on Amazon is sourced in Thailand. An exception is Ginger People ginger, which is sourced in Fiji and/or somewhere else not Thailand. But it was WAY TOO sugary for my taste.

Color is very dark, tastes funny (almost soapy), and disagrees with my stomach.

There is so much ginger in 5lbs! It will be a while before I need more! The flavor is spicy and ginger-y and wonderful. The ginger I received is cut with the grain rather than across the grain, which does affect the texture some. It is also slightly drier than the bulk ginger with preservatives that I have bought from the store before. It is also slightly darker. I tasted the darker and lighter pieces and the flavor is not affected by the color. The texture is also not at all like the Reed's brand ginger chunks which is very jelly-like. The only thing that would make them better is if they were cut across the grain rather than with. I am very satisfied with my purchase. Edit: I've been snacking on these for about a month and a half, and I am still happy with them. Since many of these are cut with the grain, the fibers are longer-ish, and sometimes stick in my teeth. Otherwise these are great, and the flavor is very potent. When I eventually run out, I'll probably buy these again.
