Workhorse, ready to go to work
Delivery was right on time. The server was packaged thoroughly and nothing appeared to have moved or been damaged during shipping. I added drives and powered it up, following the built-in walk-through menus to load Fedora 40, which runs quite happily on this server. This server replaced my R620 which died of a terminal motherboard issue that was not repairable. For $100 more than the price of a replacement board, I got a step up in functionality, two additional power supplies, and all the functions I needed. It does use faster memory than the 620, so the RAM did not transfer and I also found it easier to backup the drives and move them, along with a fresh OS load on the R630. The machine was up and cranking out profits within a couple of hours. I am happy with the purchase, the company that sold it through Amazon (PC Server and Parts Certified Refurbished), and Amazon’s Refurbished Equipment. I’d recommend this again.
