I do know my cat took one sniff and wouldn’t go near it! **Q: How does this not do the opposite of what is intended with a phosphorus level dangerously higher than allowed by vets for a renal failure cat food?** A: Not sure where you found the phosphorous levels in this product, but all I can say is that the product works! We went the traditional route when our cat ended up with renal failure. The cat food that the vet sold to us was Hills Prescription Diet Kidney Care dry food. Intuitively, that felt wrong to me. Why would you feed a cat dry food when they have kidney disease? The cat already isn't getting enough fluids in him, so I did some research on the subject. Traditional vets go to veterinary schools funded by the animal food manufacturers, so what do they learn? Feed the animals the manufacturer's food, which makes them worse. You are kind of on your own if you truly want your animal to get better. There are no holistic vets in my area, but you can google holistic vets and find out what they recommend for your cat. So, of course, number one is to get them drinking more water, skip the dry food, only give them wet, etc. You can do the research yourself. Protein content is a major source of debate between allopathic and integrative veterinarians. The idea behind protein restriction is that you stress the kidneys less and build up less toxins in the bloodstream. While this may be true, cats as a whole are much healthier on a high protein, low carbohydrate diet. Our cat is 16 and he is doing great now, since I decided not to follow our vet's advice. So if you truly want your cat to get better, don't just listen to your vet. **Q: Amazon no longer carries this and my cat is during how can I order more ? Urgent please** A: I just bought it from Amazon it is available **Q: Is this different from Renatrophin or Arginex?** A: I am not sure but I believe that Renatrophin may be similar. I think I read that cat owners have used both. I never used it. I do know that the Amazon price for Renal Support has increased a lot. They’re AMAZING and they help heal so many different ailments-even those that your doctor will tell you are impossible to heal.Mr Nacho is our 9 year old fixed male kitty. Right around Christmas I noticed that he was getting skinny and his behavior seemed off. Before I had a chance to take him to the vet he was trying to pee, but it was apparent that he couldn’t, as he was trying to urinate in any vessel that was in front of him. I happened to have this product as well as Kidney Gold and it worked overnight-he could pee again! But we weren’t out of the woods yet. He refused to eat these items mixed in with his food, so it was a bit touch and go for a bit before I became wise and started administering it thru a syringe. I also added chicken baby food to the mix to give him a little extra something to help fatten him up. Within a couple of weeks he was well enough to play outside again. I gave him one pill along with Kidney Good twice daily, and eventually added Epaktin to the mix. He never went to the vet, but to be honest I had to make an executive decision. I know that if I took him in they would have suggested I put him down. He had sunken eyes, barely moved-Mr Nacho was a mess. It’s now nearly three months later and he’s catching mice and birds again (he actually caught a mouse three weeks after escaping death). He’s now on a renal diet and doing quite well.
