Great knife sharpener ! Easy to use and very effective.

Now my knives are beyond sharp! When I first bought the F5 to sharpen my knives I was satisfied with the red belts and the standard guides but it just seem like I was missing something. Then I found that there was a plus package with eastern and western guides. Well I needed the western guide because I have western knives. Now these things are so sharp I’m afraid to touch them LOL

I previously reviewed the E5. I also purchase this kit as I have some Asian knives that have a steeper angle. I love how they cut. The guide switch out is simple and the sharpening is just the same process as my ordinary knives. I really love that I can maintain the Asian blades just like they were made. It is sweet to be able to sharpen these myself instead of having to send them off to a factory. This is a worthwhile purchase if you have Asian knives.

These guides work SO well to get a perfect/ consistent edge angle. The belts last surprisingly well. One thing to be aware of is the first sharpening can take a while. If you change the profile of the cutting edge, it takes a few extra passes with the heavy grit belts but once it's there, it is super fast to get the knife back to razor sharp. I think the extra guides are absolutely critical to get the most out of this sharpener.
