Travelon Anti-Theft Heritage Backpack

When I initially received the bag, one of the D-clips was broken off of the side. The company had a replacement to my door in 2 days, so bravo for the customer service. Aside from that one defect, this bag is very sturdy, zips smoothly, and is comfortable to wear. It is on the heavy side of backpacks, but that's no surprise, since there's metal mesh in the fabric, and I don't consider that a detractor anyway. There is adequate storage for traveling as well, as I can fit a portfolio, 2 computers, both my work and personal phones, a water bottle, portable charger, basic office supplies, camera, and a few other knickknacks in the bag no problem. It also fits as a carry on or personal item on most airlines, so big plus there. Pros: Sturdy, comfortable, looks great, good zippers, plenty of storage space Cons: gets you a funny look from TSA when it goes through a baggage scanner All in all, I highly recommend.

We purchased two of these backpacks for our 10 day summer trip in Europe this year. They backpack itself is a little on the heavy side when empty but this is because it has that anti-slash meshing so it is worth it in my opinion. The quality is very good and quite substantial. I LOVE the style and look of this backpack. It was easy to carry and didn't feel hot or heavy to me. We carry a lot of water and snacks for our family so we start out with a full load. At first, opening the zippers proved tricky but honestly, once we did it a few times, it became much easier. In Europe, when we entered places for security, it was a little time consuming opening all of the zipper locks as one feels rushed when going through security. But it wasn't enough of a deterrent for me to rate this backpack any less. The security features far outweighed any of the negatives we found long the way.

This is the best backpack I have ever owned. It’s my everyday work bag and travel essential. The zipper pull clip feature is such a nice touch. It has all the pockets and compartments I need plus the straps are comfortable.

This was a great travel backpack. We felt very secure using it in Barcelona. I have it 4 stars because the hoop for locking the main compartment zipper is next to the water bottle pouch, and it makes it very difficult to clip it if you have a water bottle in the pouch. You have to remove the bottle to clip it easily. It could easily be moved to the other side of the zip, since there is only space for one water bottle. An easy fix. Other than that It’s an amazing backpack and looks nice. You can’t really wash it because there is suede on the bottom, but it doesn’t look messy after two weeks of travel.

I travel a lot, and this is my go-to backpack. It’s practical, well-designed, and holds up great no matter where I take it. I’ve used it for trips, work, and everyday errands. There are plenty of pockets and zippers, so it’s easy to stay organized, and it holds more than you'd expect. One of my favorite features is that the zippers lock, which makes me feel much more comfortable and secure when traveling. It’s also durable, easy to pack, and the adjustable straps are sturdy and comfortable—even when it’s fully loaded. If you need a reliable, all-purpose backpack, this one is a solid choice.

This backpack is adorable. I also love how all the zippers have the lobster claw closure so you can feel a lot safer knowing it's not going to get opened by a stranger without you feeling it. I can't imagine someone can open the closure quickly and gently enough that you wouldn't feel it. Hubby is a big sweaty guy and felt the backpack was a tad hot and sweaty on his back for our trip to India, where it was very hot, but I can't imagine this wouldn't be an issue with almost any other backpack. But the back part is not super breathable so just keep that in mind if that's really important to you. Also the backpack is a little heavier than a typical backpack of that size, so keep in mind if you have very strict weight limits, you will not be able to fit as much extra weight in this as you might in a lighter backpack. But nevertheless, this is a great day pack for the average day wandering around and exploring the streets.

Nice size and good quality for the most part. The metal zippers on mine were slightly deformed and made opening and closing a difficult two handed operation. Not good in airport lines so I returned after one trip. Thought of reordering another but picked up anther bag on the trip.

I have a smaller Travelon bag that was purchased for overseas travel but has never been the right fit for my everyday use. When my old everyday bag broke beyond repair, I ordered this backpack in hopes that it would be the same quality as the smaller bag. I was not disappointed - it is worth the higher price tag in every way. When you first remove it from the packaging, it doesn't look like it's very big, but it expands and is extremely roomy. Even when carrying a laptop, there is still plenty of room for a lunch bag, laptop accessories, wallet, keys, phone, and other daily items. The straps are nicely padded, have a lot of room for adjustment, and don't dig in at all. You can't feel the anti-theft cable that runs through them. The hardware is sturdy and the fabric is solid. I appreciate having all the anti-theft features for use when traveling or when going through areas of questionable safety. The only thing that may be an issue for some is that the canvas does not seem to have a rubber backing so it may not keep contents dry in a soaking rain for an extended time. It seems to do fine in light rain or for short duration in heavy rain, but this is probably not a good choice for outdoor backpacking or if you plan to be outdoors for an extended period of time in rainy weather.

Terrific to use as carry on luggage since you don't have to awkwardly bump into or roll over every other passenger on your way to your seat. The bag can easily hold the necessities for a short trip or storing your sanity for multiple layovers. The material is durable and the security features helped me feel a bit more reassured of my belongings when travelling throughout Asia. The locking mechanisms took me a couple of tries to get used to, but they're not complicated. I even ended up buying another bag in grey for my father to use for his trip to the Caribbean.

I use this as a carry-on for flights. I love that there is a separate compartment for laptops and iPhones. I also like the anti-theft zippers and clips. Great for poolside!

Everything as described. Arrived promptly. Really like the external expanding water bottle pocket.
