Straight out of the packet the black worked well, but the white seemed to be suffering as some of the reviews confirm. This was wrong, and you just need to persevere to get the ink flowing. The white pen has a ball that is loose inside which tells me that I need to shake to stir up the contents. It took a good few minutes of shaking, gently depressing the nib and trying to write before the white ink started to come out. From that point on it works perfectly well and the ink flows easily. Rest assured, you don't need to go through this process each time you use it once you get it working. Clothes have been washed several times and the markings are still there, so it's a thumbs up from me. You just need to persevere with the white to get it working but once it does you will be happy.
