Installed them on the doors first. 1.)Since the hinges have some tension and are cocked in a little, I put a 1/16" strip between the two halves to make it flat for installation on the face frames. 2.) Used a centering punch to mark the location of the of the holes to be pre-drilled on the face frame. Review: Had to adjust the door about 1/8” for the lock to fit properly. WE HAVE KWIKSET HALIFAX DOOR HARDWARE THROUGHOUT OUR HOME AND I WANTED THE FRONT DOOR TO LOOK SIMILAR. THIS SET ACCOMPLISHES THAT AND LOOKS GREAT. THE ONLY THING I HAD NOT CONSIDERED WAS THE FACT WE WOULD NEED TO PUT A SMALL HOLE IN OUR DOOR FOR THE BOTTOM OF THE HANDLE.
