The product installs very easily, and is very effective. No worries about it self-closing unintentionally. When in the locked position, there is NO way to bypass the lock. The one problem occurs when not everyone is home and someone (by habit) flips it shut. For that reason, I'd recommend this for people who live alone in apartment buildings (where tradespeople (strangers) sometimes have to enter your unit), but not so much for bigger families.

Great product, easy installation, fits the Deadbolt and prevents the lock from being opened once engaged.

One of the maintenance lost their master keys at our complex and they won't replace everyone's locks. They swept the situation under the rug. This will work wonders during night time and you can sleep in peace knowing that even someone with a key cannot unlock the door. I would also suggest replace the default half inch screws to the plate and the dead lock with 4 inch exterior screws. And make sure that the plate side hits the king stud. That way if they were to kick the door, they dont have to just break the door casing, they have to fight with the screws into the studs as well. Another small guy was about to get through those red handled motel door travel locks. This works so much better Edit: works great. Easily able to remove during rental inspections and easily installable again. You would break the key before breaking this device.

Works great, but delivery to Canada is expensive, although it says "free shipping." It is not free, it is included in the price!
