The SD2500T Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C Dual 4K Hybrid Nano Dock with 60W PD - Win/Mac is the perfect, ultra-compact, full-featured Thunderbolt 3 laptop docking station. Features include universal compatibility, Single 8K or Dual 4K video output, 60W power delivery, UHS II SD 4.0 card readers, free Kensington DockWorks software. It’s the ideal laptop docking station for a productive workplace.

Review: Compact Size, Premium Build - +compact, works fine and premium build, and has all most of essential ports. -doesn't not work without external power supply -the adaptor (120W) it comes with is bulkier than docking station! may not be travel friendly if not using power delivery option. On product enquiry it was told that need 90W adaptor if not using for power delivery, but I could use it with 30W adaptor, that might affect USB power available. -No HDMI port so may need DP to HDMI adaptor, an additional expense! one of the DP could have been an HDMI -No mounting options except for keeping it on the table -SD card sticks out overall, no complaint
Review: Works well, but might need a driver update - This dock does what it should do, that is, getting all your DisplayPort monitors, ethernet, and various USB devices connected to your laptop through a single Thunderbolt port. The dock also provides a few ports that are easily in reach such as SD Card, headphone jack, and a couple of nearby USB ports so that you're not having to go to your notebook to plug those things in. All of this works quite well. My complaints, and two reasons for knocking off a star: 1) The dock runs very very hot, and 2) The ethernet port just isn't at all reliable on my laptop as it all works right out of the box. I was having the ethernet just stop working after a while, usually happening at least once per sitting. It doesn't show as being disconnected, it just doesn't pass traffic through and everything needing network connectivity times out. Eventually I found that there is a Realtek USB ethernet driver that may need to be installed (to update whatever is there by default), and either that or the DockWorks software which tech support suggested I try has fixed the problem. Unfortunately I installed both at the same time so I can't tell which was the fix. The symptoms I was having were exactly like another thunderbolt dock I previously used which also had a Realtek USB ethernet controller which that driver fixed for that dock, and I'm also leery of the idea that the DockWorks which is meant to manage the WiFi connection when using the system in different places and in plugging and unplugging should fix it. Maybe it did, and maybe it does more than the description would imply, but I don't think this is a WiFi management problem so I lean toward the driver being the fix with the caveat that anyone else having the problem might just try both. Support was slow at responding and the dock runs hotter than I'd like so I land on 4 stars.

**Q: Do you need a power cord connection, too? Or just the USB?**
A: Jen, I don't need a power cord or a USB. The Docking Station worked once. The next time that I had an opportunity to use the Docking Station it did not work. I contacted Kensington Support. Kensington tried to troubleshoot the problem over a 2 week period. After about a week of troubleshooting, I decided to I wanted to exchange the docking station because the one that I had would not work after a week of trouble shooting, however, when I attempted to exchange the docking station, I received an auto reply from Amazon advising me that the defected unit was beyond the allowable return time. Kensington did not return my telephone as they had stated. They finally contacted me once again via email stating that since they have not heard from me they marked the incident as "resolved". They finally contacted me on 12/9, 12/10, 12/17/12/24 & 12/31. The initial problem that I had experienced was that the picture was larger than the display, then I didn't have a display on either monitor. The USB outlets worked just fine, the speaker connection worked fine did not have any video. After a month of on and off troubleshooting, Kensington requested that I return the defected unit to them at my expense. I just received the replacement unit and have not had the opportunity to set up the docking station. Needless to say, I was disappointed with the lack of Customer Support from Amazon and the fact that I had to ship the defective unit back to Kensington at my expense.

**Q: can I keep my laptop closed?**
A: Hello, Yes you can close the lid if you are running 2 monitors. You would have to change the settings within "Screen Resolution" after it detects both. Also, in "Power Settings" you can configure the laptop to stay on when the Lid is closed.

**Q: Does Doccking station include (i.e., come with) both DVI -> VGA and DVI -> HDMI adapters????**

**Q: Can I connect 2 DVI-D monitors? I only see one video port on the picture. Would I need additional cables?**
A: There's only one port. I doubt that you can connect 2 even with additional cables

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kensington stayed until solving the difficult issue

9/20/25 I'm writing this review almost one year later. The product performed well, except it didn't perfectly handle driving two 4k monitors. They would periodically black out; granted that while it's supposed to work it's tough to do. What impressed me was Kensington's tech support stayed with the problem until we found a mutually agreeable solution. Very impressive.
