Review: Authentic and Easy to Make - After coming back from Japan, I was looking for something that tasted like what I had so many times over there. Most fell flat with the taste, but Kokumaru is pretty close to it. Super easy to make and you gives you enough for leftovers. I found that the Med/Hot was the best tasting out of the group and it wasn't too spicy, you can always add more spices but mild enough to give to children (they love it). Also the Med/Hot is cheaper than the Mild so go for these to save a couple bucks! Review: I’m picky and I LOVE this - Always the best curry when we use this mix. It’s legit delicious!

Taste curry, similar to S&B
This is a very tasty curry. Similar to S&B, maybe just a touch more robust. The "Hot" is Japanese hot, which is not that hot by other standards, but has just enough bite to make it pleasant. This gets an easy five stars, and earns its place no my list of Favorite Curries.

Best Curry I’ve Ever Made
This brand is perfect. Better than Golden, Vermont, all the others. Rich flavor, super smooth, dissolves and thickens effortlessly. It could have been spicier but I’m not lowering it to 4 stars because it is worth having to add a little more heat yourself.

Contains Sucralose
I wanted to try a new to me brand of Japanese Curry and gave this a go. Unfortunately the ingredients list was not pictured on the box. I just assumed that it would be like other curry mixes I had previously purchased. It wasn't until I finished preparing the curry that I read the ingredients list and spotted the artificial sweetener sucralose, which does not agree with my body. If you have the same issue I suggest avoiding this brand and opt for another. Since the curry was already prepared I ended up giving it to my neighbo. Thumbs up from them as they enjoyed it immensely. Since I had leftover curry mix I gifted them the remainder. They will be making more in the future. In general the heat level of these types of Japanese Curry mixes are negligible. These is barely any difference between mild, medium, and hot. A small child could easily eat a "hot" Japanese Curry without issue. So if you are looking for that zing, you will have to add your own heat.

Takes me back
These are super nostalgic for me, so this is a bit of a biased review - but you can’t really go wrong with these. Keep in mind that Japanese curry is sweeter and milder than most western curries, but the cubes create an easy base that you can always jazz up as needed. Probably available for less money if you have an asian food store in your area, otherwise these aren’t easy to find in the US.

HOLY GRAIL of japanese curry
This is the holy grail of japanese curry! Ever since I tried coco ichibanya in LA, I've been looking for the right curry blocks to help me recreate the dish. I've tried golden curry, Vermont curry, glico. But this is the best tasting, and closest to coco ichibanya. It has the most spice out of all the other brands (not too spicy you can't eat tho!) I made it for my husband recently and he was like, can this be a staple food of ours? Fine with me! It's so delish and super easy to make. Grill onions/veggies, add water and cook till veggies tender, then add the curry blocks and simmer till it thickens. Voila! Finished. Super easy. Will buy this for as long as they sell it! Leftovers taste just as good too. Also, if you want to recreate chicken katsu, grab some panko bread crumbs from amazon!!
