Drum Workshop DW One-Touch Hi-Hat Clutch, Silver

This is the best clutch I've ever owned. I used standard clutch that came with my DW 9000 w leg stand for years and never had a problem. It started to slip alot. I purchased another standard and that slipped too. Then I purchased this way over priced clutch. I works perfectly. Never had another slip with it. Its definately not a $50 value, but i must say it is a very nice clutch.

I use this clutch on my DW 5000 series hi-stand. The stock clutch is great on its own, but this takes it to the next level. The way it clamps is simple but ingenious. Much sturdier than the stock clutch, and more precise. The top tension adjustment has a detent to keep it locked in place while the bottom tightens down all the way and stays lock (also has the detents). Felts and washers are attached, similar to the 9000 series cymbal stands. Much harder to lose under dark stage lights. I think the best part about this clutch is the fact that it has the nylon washer (also attached) between the top cymbal and the pull rod… no more risk of keyholes. Well worth the investment. It’s the last clutch you’ll ever need to buy.

I rarely review my purchases but I have to say something about this clutch. I’ve been disappointed by this hi hat stand since I bought it and have been looking for a replacement. Being a working drummer, I need consistency and the old, original, PDP clutch wasn’t cutting it anymore. Rather than getting a whole new stand, I decided to try this clutch. I’m happy to say that I didn’t have to think about it failing or slipping all night. While it is very easy to take this for granted, it is a huge deal as I can just concentrate on playing and not worry about my hi hats failing. If you’re in the market for a new clutch, this one is definitely worth the 50 bucks. The stand is an extended footboard PDP Concept double legged hi hat stand. This clutch will fit perfectly with almost all stands and pull rods.

This design will clamp tight. I never fear it’ll loosen. Great for any drummer that pounds the hihat pedal. Love it!

Beautiful clamp!!! Not just cosmetically, but in performance and functionality!! I've had 3 clutches I would rotate in the past, basically having a parts clutch and a backup clutch - but I don't need those anymore! All my past clutches would have problems in 3 areas: 1) Wingnut slipping/not gripping the rod effectively. 2) Bottom knurled nuts coming loose (ones without the set-screw) 3) Top knurled nuts locking together, and therefore becoming useless - stuck with extremely tight or sloshy top hat This new DW design addresses all of those previously problemed areas. The top clamp/wingnut has not come loose once. Bottom and top nuts stay where you put them! Absolutely the best clutch I've ever owned!

I've always been a big fan of DW hardware. It's always robust and holds up to a ton of abuse. This hi-hat clutch is no exception. I'm running it on a DW 5000 hat stand it it fits like a glove. One aspect of this clutch that I really like is the tactile "click" it gives as you tighten the hats in place. It feels like that also serves a role of keeping the nuts from loosening while playing, and so far that has been my experience. This clutch keeps the cymbal secure and I haven't experience any kind of slippage or loosening while playing. I'm pretty heavy-footed in my playing style so I'm relieved to have a clutch that can keep up with my playing style. I'm really happy with this piece of hardware so far and have no problem recommending it to others. Facilmente el clutch mas ajustable y confiable que he utilizado en mis 22 años de carrera, termino de golpe con las preocupaciones de que el top se desajustara o se soltara. Las almohadillas estan adheridas a la tuerca, por lo tanto es imposible perderlas, la tuerca como tal tiene pequeños topes que hacen que, una ves ajustado, el top no se desajuste en toda la sesion, la abrasadera es de tipo pinza, super heavy duty, una ves ajustada, no importa la fuerza con la que cierres los hats, nunca se soltara, por lo util que es vale cada centavo.

Chulada, simplemente una chulada...
