This speaker is perfect for just that, it's cheap enough that I don't have to worry about losing, or destroying it. (My phone will be in a bright orange waterproof box that floats. yes, the bluetooth remains connected while the phone is inside the box) I've been playing around with this speaker for about a week now, and here is what I have noticed about it: the speaker is is about the size of a hockey puck with a suction cup on the back. It is a very basic speaker, there is no bass, and if you turn it up too loud it sounds bad. You can place the speaker on different surfaces to achieve better quality sounds, due to the speaker being above the suction cup. The construction of the body is fairly basic as well, it is a rubber coated plastic, which feels sturdy, not flimsy. The controls are easy to use and self explainable, I didn't have to look at any instructions to understand how to use this speaker. The Bluetooth connected quickly and easily, I am using an iPhone 6. I had it in the shower last night to test the waterproof abilities. It is still working fine, I'm currently listening to Strawberry fields by The Beatles on it as I write this.Hopefully this will survive many more float trips. I would buy this speaker again for another float trip if I end up losing it.I obtained this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.UPDATE: speaker will not work once submerged in water. Unfortunately this speaker fell off the front of the canoe right into the puddle at the bottom of the boat.
