Alden 4507P Grabit Micro Broken Bolt Extractor 4 Piece Kit - Small Bolt and Screw Remover - Made in the USA

I recently wanted to repaste my girlfriends dell inspiron 7577, however I ran into three stripped screws. I tried everything, including soldering a screwdriver to the screw. Nothing worked. Ordered these on a whim, put them in my drill and went very slowly and careful not to get any metal trimmings on the laptop motherboard, and I could not believe my eyes when the screws started turning and backed out. This tool works great! Follow the instructions exactly and go slowly and be patient and I promise it'll work. 10/10!

Expensive but worth every penny. I stripped yet another of my t6 torx screws on my Kershaw Bel-Air knife while working in it and instead of waiting the 6 weeks it takes for warranty work, I gave these a shot. Also why they decide to put so much loctite despite their screws stripping easily is beyond me. Worked flawlessly after I saw the video on YouTube and slowed down the extraction portion as suggested, definitely recommend for your small and stuck screws

Like most people, this is a desperate move and it's why we bought this. Without this tool the next step is to start sawing off whatever the bolt was stripped against. My issue was a 5mm stripped bolt on my RC servo. It's like the size of a fingernail clipping. I wasn't even sure if the bolt shaft stripped or just the head. There's not much to be said about the experience. I drilled in for about 10 rotations; then, extracted within two rotations. I went into this thing assuming the worse but it's a 3 minute in/out. There were metal shavings that came off which of course is to be expected. Other thoughts, I listened to everyone's advice which is 1) do it slow and 2) be careful with force. I used a hand drill vs an electric drill which gave me extra controls. And, for my item an electric drill would likely do more harm, speed control or not. Also, it depends on how badly your stripped bolt is but not always do you need to drill deep. In my case the bolt head is nice and clean with a lot of the surface area remaining. So, just a bit of scratch it gave the extractor teeth enough opportunities to bite and pull. Good luck...MOOOOO!

This is overpriced and it's like buying a pig in a poke for several reasons first of all it's $40 after taxes for four bits which they never tell you what size they are a,nywhere. there's little labels it looks like, that are so small no one can read it. using the smallest bit , it goes dull LONG BEFORE before it drills a hole deep enough. I finished it with a normal 1/16" bit and then the so-called "extractor" just spun in the hole. frankly, I've NEVER had any brand of this type of tool EVER WORK The four bits come in a little plastic case it doesn't label what they are what size. In the case in the opposite panel of the bits is it a paper card that doesn't identify the bits in this sizes, just an advertisement that says "faster than any other tool on earth" and "instructions" with a little curved arrow like I'm supposed to turn the card over to see the instructions for peel it but it doesn't peel. So I turn it over and look on the back and there's nothing there but a UPC bar which I tried to scan with my phone camera & nothing comes up. I'm returning it for a refund

Very happy with my purchase. I repair vintage toys/electronics and it’s very clear, that most parents were using micro Phillips instead of a #0 or #1 Phillips bc the screws get pretty bad- as the fate of a valuable one rested in my hands, I scoured amazon for the right solution. These are the perfect size for smaller screws and are good quality (glad I didn’t go with the cheap ones). First time using this, I was super bummed that it didn’t even budge the sucker, but luckily I decided to try the extractor end a size up from the drill bit- it hasn’t failed me yet. Now they aren’t a magical solution, so you’ll still need to set yourself up for success by using a penetrating oil/lubricant like WD-40… just be aware that if you’re using it on a painted item (like I do sometimes), that the WD-40 will dissolve the paint so be careful to apply it precisely. And of course be sure your applying firm downward pressure and keeping your drill in reverse for the duration. Stripped screw removal is part science, part art form in my opinion. Every one is is a little different. But this has been a nice trump card for me so far after I’ve tried some less extreme options- at least for my application. Your mileage could vary depending on material or method, but seriously, use the next size up in extractor before throwing in the towel- makes the tool just a bit more effective.

I got some thread wrapped around a part in my Pfaff 130. Machine was jammed, so ok take it apart EXCEPT one screw was petty stripped and being soft stripped more, I tried the rubber band, etc and no luck. Then stepped away for a year. Order smaller collets for Dremel to hold smaller drills and finally hit on the right search term to find these. The Dremel doesn’t have a reverse and the grabits close to too big, so I used the Dremel with a tiny bit to drill hole then took the Grabit drill side in hand drill and it caught and the screw came out. Totally worth it to me to save the treads on the machine and avoid a more complex teardown. I also mess with pc, games systems, etc so am sure I will used again. One thing I don’t like is the card in the storage box just has barcode on back instead of directions so I cut directions off packaging, storage box is cheap but at least it has one

Excellent product! I was able to remove a stripped 2mm hex screw on my Holoson optic. It took less than a minute for each screw! I recommend!

This product did not drill into bolt when I drilled with a normal drill bit the grabber broke under pressure

These extractors are the best I have used. Not extremely durable, but reliable. I have used a lot of different types and these are really good.

If you have a old MacBook air mid 2012 . And the ssd original m.2 screw does not come out . This is the perfect tool for it especially small drill drill it first then extract the broken screw

Finally, a half decent screw extractor

I must say that I wasn't hopeful that this would work to extract a very small screw from the end of some cycle forks. The head had completely sheared off, leaving just the shaft, maybe 3mm across at best, and with a load of corrosion around the threaded plate it was stuck in. This was a last resort before shelling out £300 for replacement forks. However it works, and beautifully! The boring end seemed to just ignore the rough sheared face and seemed to find centre really easily, and then the screw in end managed to grip inside the hole, and unscrewed it beautifully. All with a piece of metal no more than 5mm by 3mm. Just take it REALLY slowly with the drill, be patient, and this will work. A cursory look at the bit head suggests that it hasn't sacrificed itself and will be good for many more applications. This isn't a cheap item, but in my case it's saved me over £250, so I'm very happy indeed.
