My first one lasted ten years...It does need maintenance. Once or twice a year. I make fresh coffee at least once or twice a day....nicer with this unit. While the information says it holds one half pound, it holds much more. But, it does "stress" the dispenser. I will always have this unit in my home. Maintenance is taking it apart, washing it.....letting it dry and re-assembling it. It can do much more. Thank you Amazon! **Q: (2) Questions: Can it be used for -instant coffe? Buy it!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I've used it for instant coffee and creamer to quickly have a consistent taste that I like without grabbing a spoon and spilling *by N***E on October 21, 2015* This works wonders in measuring out your daily coffee fixes.I've used it for instant coffee and creamer to quickly have a consistent taste that I like without grabbing a spoon and spilling all day.The compartments that dispense what you fill it with have a slight gap so I find that creamer often still falls out if I shake it or tilt it a certain way since it's so fine and stand it in a little tupperware thing to prevent messing up the counter.Solid construction, not too hard to grip the trigger if you have larger hands but if you think your hands are generally smaller it may take some effort to squeeze the thing. If you have arthritis or rheumatism this might not be a good idea for you to have as it feels a little like squeezing one of those hand exercising devices, not a LOT of resistance but the springs do provide some pushback. If you don't want to drill a push dispenser to your wall though, this is definitely a good thing to have. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Black and chrome .. however got black and flat grey.
