I purchased this item for use while training during the "indoor" season here in New England. That means basically November through March. So for six months out of the year, I ride 6 days/week in the basement. During that time, I'm a member of a global virtual cycling team. The block experiences a lot of abuse from the pressure put on the handlebars when I get out of the saddle to perform a sprint or when going uphill. With three different height levels, you can put your front tire on a level that works best for you. I should say that, even with the sprinting, it holds the front wheel steady and I am confident of avoiding an indoor crash (they said it couldn't be done, but I've already done it-- once lol). In the past, my other blocks are cracked within one season and I have to buy a new one. Each one was roughly $10-$15 bucks. This was a little more, but the durability is well worth the price. For the first time, I don't have to buy a new one at the end of the season. Rider info: 5' 10", 165 libs

Excellent bike trainer wheel stand. Having the option of 3 different heights really allowed me to dial in my specific trainer. This thing is incredibly stable with the large base. This means your front tire is locked in even when standing and pedaling hard. One thing I found with the wide base is you are able to turn your handlebars a little to restraighten your wheel after a hard push. This is something I think the smaller stands without the same kind of wheel support would feel tippy doing or simply have your tire fall off of the stand. Once your wheel is in this stand it feels like it's glued in there and isn't coming out. If your looking for a trainer wheel stand, this is the one you want.

Before buying this , I had been using some planks of wood duct taped together with some carpeting covering them, it was ok. I had been using that with an old trainer that made a racket, it sounded like a freight train. I purchased a new trainer and added the standard trainer block that came with it to my wood plank set up, again the stability was ok, it could have been a bit better. I saw this trainer block and it took me awhile to order it because of the price. I know there is another popular brand block that is a bit more even. Any way this works very nicely. It does not move around, I have it on a carpeted floor and I found the height I wanted, hence no need for the wood plank set up. I like how there is a good amount of bike tire length that fits in the block and how the block hugs the tire, I think that is what makes the big difference. From time to time I stand up and pedal, I am careful but I feel secure in doing this. This piece of equipment was worth it. I got the blue one. It also looks nice.
