I removed about 15" deep snow off my roof with it. The reach is adequate, although still not enough for my application, but I don't think a longer stick would make it more effective. The main problem is the weight - it is very heavy to move around, and the weight at the end of an extra long stick makes it very challenging to operate even for fairly strong person. VERY tiring work. Unfortunately, I don't think that the manufacturer could have done anything about that; just noting it for the buyers.
