Original Album Classics

if you like the band cream then you will like Mountain. Great band fron the seventies. Most of these cd can be found used or new . But this collection is all the first five. great price and all five are here. the older collection is not remastered so you can turn it up loud and hear Leslie West at his best. they do not make music like this anymore.

Mountain burned brightly in their short career, and they burned brightest on their first 2 albums. This box has 3 studio albums: 1) Climbing (1970); 2) Nantucket Sleighride (1971); and 3) Avalanche (1974). The first two are classic albums - essential for fans interested in the history of heavy metal/hard rock genre. The good news here is that they are definitely remastered (these boxed sets are hit or miss on remaster editions - if it was remastered before the set issued then it is usually included - they have not specially remastered any of these discs for this box set release). Avalanche is not remastered, but to tell you the truth, I couldn't tell the difference, and there's probably not much on it that you would care about unless you're an odd duck like me that likes one particular song off the album that nobody else likes.The other two albums are live or half studio/half live: 1) Twin Peaks (1974 - Double Live Album); 2) Flowers of Evil (1971 - Side 1 Studio & Side 2 Live). Twin Peaks may be remastered because a remastered version was issued in 2006 and this box set was issued in 2010, it sounds good, but like I said I couldn't tell much difference. Flowers of Evil is not remastered but the sound is still good for what it is. Twin Peaks was considered by All Music Guide to be a good document of their live show, back then they used to drag songs out forever live and Nantucket Sleighride runs over 31 minutes. Most people would be happy with the Best of Mountain, which has been remastered by the way. But with this Box set you get everything that's on the Best of Mountain and a lot more for not a lot more money.

I purchased this CD I enjoyed listening to their music I think it was a very very goodbye where I will get plenty of hours of listening time

There's nothing like taking a step backwards, to a piece of life that was innocent, not only in lifestyles, but also in the arts as well- Listening to these five albums from 'Mountain' placed a smile on my face that I could not erase- Listening to selections such as: Mississippi Queen, Nantucket Sleighride, Theme for an Imaginary Western, and Roll Over Beethovan, not to mention the excellent guitar solos offered by Felix West, places me back to a part of my youth only attainable by the realm of music- I can actually remember where I was as I heard these cuts 30 to 40 years ago- Thanks to the boys in the band for allowing this collector's item to reenter the music market- If you are not familiar with Felix West or the delights of Mountain, this is a great place to begin, at a ridiculously low price- Get it while these Golden Oldies are still available, as they will not always be so!

Good old Mountain. What a unique sound these guys had. Full throttle vocals and muffled overdriven guitar sound from Leslie was enough to convert me. Great quality and value for your money.

Cd arrived a couple of weeks ago. If your are a Mountain fan, this package is essential. The cd’s come in sleeves that look like the original album covers.

Loved them from the 70's

If you don't mind not having the original sleeve for info, these 5 CD packs are unbeatable value, especially when getting hold of older rock music. I have found useful to replace my original vinyl copies that are too scratched.JUST ONE GRIPE - This is directed at Amazon specifically NOT the product, as they do not allow you to leave feedback for themselves, only for independent sellers using Amazon. Amazon took a month to deliver these CD's, only dispatched 2 weeks after order ! Other well known music sellers take a day or two ???? I will not be using Amazon direct again.

Typical 70's American rock well worth a listen but got a bit predictable from album 3 onwards. Still 5 albums for £14.00 is not bad

This is a must 5 albums for a tenner Great songs from a great band Leslie West brilliant guitarist and singer.A superb mix of heavy tracks and quieter ones Nantucket Sleighride is worth the price of this box set

Good replacement having recently sold my vinyl collection

A superb collection of Mountain classics. An absolute must...and in my opinion very good value for money. Enjoy and play it LOUD!!!
