Crystal Attract Silica Cat Litter, 8lbs

Is it a bit dramatic to say this cat litter changed my life? Because honestly, it did. I live in a small space and, though I know more than one litter box is desirable and recommended for two cats, it simply wasn't realistic for my household. So I used a good clumping clay litter with baking soda and scooped my one box at least twice a day into my litter genie, but still couldn't altogether escape the smell or the tracking, plus my cats were clearly not happy with the arrangement-- one of my cats had some litter box anxiety and was frequently covering and re-covering everything in the box, breaking up clumps and kicking litter out in the process. Rather than once again try to figure out how to make two boxes work, I decided to give this crystal litter a try first on the suggestion of a friend (I have one long-haired cat and one short-haired), and the cats took to it immediately. The cat who had been stressed about the box now only goes in to do her business, except when she actually races over to watch with fascination whenever I rake the crystals. I was truly blown away by how well it works--it really does absorb ALL liquid and urine odors. The only odors arise immediately after the cats poop, but all moisture from that is quickly absorbed as well, so the odor is less intense than it used to be. I still use the litter genie for convenience, but I could honestly get rid of it and scoop the poops directly into the toilet. Lingering odors are GONE. There is still a bit of tracking, but much, much less than with the clay litter. There are no gross, saturated clumps sticking to the box and the scoop. There is absolutely no hint of a "litter box smell" in my home anymore. Given that the instructions specify to only use 1" of it at a time, and the fact that it lasts two full weeks before needing to be replaced, it doesn't actually end up being much more expensive than my old brand, and the improved quality of life it has given me more than makes up for the $5 or so extra I'm paying per month (I expect this one container to last me about a month for 2 cats and one litter box). If you haven't tried this type of litter, DO IT. My only regret is that I didn't switch sooner.

I like this litter for our long hair cat. She seems to like it over other types. It controls the odor nicely and last for one month.

Since discovering Pretty Litter, I have been testing out crystal cat litters. We loved Pretty Litter but the shipping took an entire week. Since it went from zero to horribly smelly in a day, a week is too long to wait. This one is my favorite alternatives so far. My cats are both domestic shorthair but I was looking for something that wouldn't track everywhere. It controls odor well, is unscented, doesn't seem to track all over the floor and comes in a recyclable container. Unscented is actually nice - we tried the Fresh Steps crystals which did a poor job of controlling odor. So it just smelled like perfume and cat pee. Don't really care much about the packaging but I was happy I could recycle it. What I didn't like was that it lasted a week and half before I started noticing it wasn't absorbing urine as well. Not terribly smelly but noticeable. The packaging claims that one container will last one cat two months. I have two cats so I was hoping this would last at least two and a half weeks before it needed changing. Overall, not a bad cat litter. Maybe our male cat just pees a lot? I'm going to continue trying other brands and (hopefully) find one that lasts a little longer.

Love this product! My cat is pretty picky when it comes litter and usually only likes Pretty Litter. He hates clay litters, tofu, pine, I have tried everything because Pretty litter is so expensive. I also wanted a healthier option that was low dust for his allergies, non-toxic, and provides potential health benefits. After doing extensive research, Dr. Elsey’s was the only one that check all of those boxes! It is definitely a thicker texture than Pretty Litter but my cat doesn’t seem to mind it! It’s still on the spendy side but still cheaper than what I was using and has better benefits in my book!

I can't give this product 5 starts because I don't believe there is such a thing as perfect cat litter. No matter how you slice it, nobody likes dealing with the litter box. However, out of probably 10 different brands of litter I've tried, this by far works best for my cats. I needed a non clumping litter for my scoop free automatic cat box and I had tried and failed with a few other crystal litters. Prescious Cat is the least dusty of all crystal litters I've used which is important for my asthmatic feline. This brand has small granules which are softer on my cat's paws, but have a large enough surface area to absorb effectively. The attractent really helps my fussy senior actually do her business inside the box versus next to it. Like all crystal litter, you need to stir it around daily so that urine doesn't pool at the bottom of the box. This litter gets all over the floor surrounding it but unlike other litters, I do not find it in my bed or on my couch which is a huge plus. I would probably not recommend Prescious Cat if your litter box is in a bathroom or other humid area as it could affect the absorbing powers. I also will critique the packaging by saying I dislike the bulky plastic tubs, it's hard to take the foil off the top, and the plastic around the spout is really sharp. The negatives definitely don't outweigh the positives for me though. I will keep buying this litter.

Good product for my spoiled Bengal Cat, who prefers the crystals. This product has less clumping, and great value for your money. I used to buy Pretty Litter which at the time you could NOT order on Amazon nor in pet stores, only on their website that was costly (I.e back in 2022). So I looked for a substitute and that was similar and have been purchasing this product ever since. My cat likes it and it is light- weight and not too fragrant.

I recently took in five kittens. That means I have had to find a brand that will work best for my littles. I tried pretty litter, which the kittens like but I was looking for something a little cheaper. Dr Elseys is supposed to be a good brand and the cat attract worked well enough but was super dusty and made me cough. This crystal litter is as dusty, if not worse, than the cat attract. It smells unpleasant by itself and doesn't have any effect on the poop smell. I knew it wasn't clumping but the way the urine just gathers at the bottom is disgusting. To top it all off, the crystals in this litter are way bigger and sharper than the other crystal litters I've tried. My kittens hated it and I tossed the whole thing after three days. Huge waste of money and I absolutely do NOT recommend.

Best litter. We used to buy PrettyLitter because our cats prefer crystal litter rather than clumping, but have switched and will never go back! Dr Elsey’s gives you the same quality as PrettyLitter but you get more value for money. Super easy to clean. It doesn’t cause any dust when the cats use it and doesn’t track too much outside the litter box - it wouldn’t track outside the box at all if we had a mat.

After one night of usage, I can confidently say that this is the absolute worst litter I have ever used. It tracks everywhere. There's not a single room that does not have litter in. Woke up this morning to litter in the bed and on my desk in a completely different room. My cat has only used the litter twice overnight according to my Litter Robot and yet, I have litter pieces in all rooms. Actually calling it litter pieces might be wrong. What we should be calling it is little shards of glass everywhere because the pieces are sharp and some are pretty small and yes I did accidentally step on one and injured my foot. I urge everyone to stay away from this product and its false advertising especially at the ridiculous high price.

I have 2 cats that love this litter. This non clumping litter controls odor and doesn't stick their fur so they don't track it everywhere. It also changes color as it soaks up liquids which gives a nice indicator of when it needs changing.

We have been using this litter for 3 years now and love it. Virtually no smell of cat urine at all. We prefer the purple but when push comes to shove we will still use the blue one.

This litter is okay in a pinch but the crystals are too big, and I feel uncomfortable for the kitties' paws.
