## Description

Samsung SSG-4100GB 3D Active Glasses (2012 Models) - Black

Review: Cheap, light, effective and universal - what more could you want? - So glad that Panasonic and Samsung decided to join the Universal 3D glasses consortium as it's now possible to buy one pair of 3D glasses that work with multiple brands of 3D TVs. We've tested these particular glasses with a Panasonic 2012 ST50 model (TC-P55ST50) as well as a 2012 Samsung plasma and they synced immediately and worked well. They also work with 2011 Samsung TVs but they will *NOT* work with 2011 Panasonic TVs, nor the Panasonic 3D projector (PT-AE7000U) as these use the older Panasonic IR 3D glasses. If you use these on a Panasonic TV, you may notice very subtle differences between these and the Panasonic 3D glasses in terms of brightness and color saturation but I think most people would find these ones perfectly fine for 3D viewing. Considering the price difference (currently under $18 for these and a little over $50 for the least expensive Panasonic glasses), I'd say load up on these and put them in a bowl on the coffee table for guests, but maybe stash a couple of the Panasonic glasses in a drawer for more "serious" viewers. In terms of the form factor, these glasses are super-light. They come in 3 pieces: the main unit that sits on your nose with lenses plus two detachable temples. Plug the temple pieces into the main lens piece, insert the battery, hit the power button on the bridge and you're good to go. They should sync to the TV quickly as long as the TV is on and displaying 3D content. Batteries (CR-25 button cells) are available on desertcart for under $2 for 5 so I'd recommend buying 1 or 2 of these 5-packs and just stick 'em in a drawer. According to Samsung, the glasses will last up to 70 hours (of active use) per battery, so you won't need to replace the batteries often. All in all, a great product for an excellent price.
Review: Old school cool that actually delivers — who knew 2012 tech could still rock? - Samsung SSG-4100GB 3D Active Glasses from 2012 — yes, you read that right, 2012. These bad boys might be vintage, but they still work like a charm. It’s like finding a classic mixtape that still jams better than half the playlists today. What’s great: 3D Magic: They bring your screen to life like a popcorn movie on steroids — and without the annoying headaches some other 3D glasses cause. Comfort: Surprisingly comfy for something that looks like it belongs in a sci-fi movie from the early 2000s. Battery Life: Lasts long enough for you to binge an entire trilogy without reaching for the charger — impressive for 2012 tech! Compatibility: Still plays nicely with my Samsung gear, proving that some old friendships last forever. Sarcastic nuggets: Stylish? Eh, they scream “I’m retro and I know it.” Bonus points if you want to look like a low-key futuristic spy. Weight? Let’s just say they’re more “solid presence” than “feather light.” You’ll feel like you’re ready for takeoff. The fact they still work makes me suspicious they’ve been secretly powered by elves or tiny hamsters on wheels. Final thoughts: If you want 3D glasses that actually work without making you question your life choices, the Samsung SSG-4100GB 2012 model is a surprise winner. Old but gold, with just enough geek charm to make you smile. Rating: 5 stars — because some classics never die.

**Q: im having trouble finding CR-25 button cells -- what is the exact name of the battery? there are cr1025, cr1225, cr2025 -- which one do i buy? thanks!**
A: CR2025. I purchased the ENERGIZER Brand, but there are others. We were advised that there could possibly be a shortage, so I shopped at Walmart and got 4 spares. They worked, no problems. We love our 3D glasses. Happy hunting and happy viewing. I

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gets the job done and the price is right! 2012 RF universal compatibility, too!
*by R***E on May 18, 2012*

You have a 2012 active shutter TV (or 2011 Samsung) and you want lots of pairs of glasses for your buddies. This will fit the bill. They paired right away to my Panasonic TC-P60GT50 60-Inch 3D Plasma TV and work consistently well. In my opinion there is slightly more crosstalk on the SSG-4100 glasses with the Panasonic TV than I saw with the SSG-3050 glasses on my 2011 Samsung LED. Pros: - at $20 the price is right - universally compatible with 2012 RF transmitting 3DTVs such as Panasonic - Decent image quality - Nice and lightweight - Lithium battery easily replaceable and cheap, no inconvenient recharges required Cons: - Some crosstalk evident using Panasonic 2012 GT50 plasma - The earpieces are fixed once installed, they do not fold for flat (or pouch) storage - Some people prefer wraparound style 3D glasses which block more peripheral light My 3D history/qualifications: I own 3 generations of Samsung 3D active shutter glasses. My Samsung UN55D7000 55-Inch 3D LED HDTV ] came with Samsung SSG-3100GB Glasses which worked OK, but were relatively bulky and $40/ea. A few months ago they released the Samsung SSG-3050G Glasses for 2011 TVs and these were a marked improvement as they were under $30 each, lightweight, and had (in my opinion) improved crosstalk performance. Fast forward 90 days and here I am with a which has universal 3D RF glasses compatibility... and Panasonic is still stuck in 2010 pricing mode for their glasses. So I get myself 4 pairs of these glasses. I also briefly had a Sharp LC70LE745U, the 3D was unacceptable on that TV.
