No rewiring of tank hood is necessary if you are using a true fluorescent instant start ballast. Tube lasts 50,000 hours and will pay for itself in just 1.5 years. This will be the last tube you buy. 6500K color promotes excellent coral growth and reduces unwanted algae growth. Current version only fits hoods that have vertically mounted lamp holders, not horizontally. Please see product photos for more detail. Please make sure this product fits your style of tank hood.
