I will start off by mentioning that I am a professional automotive technician, and this install may be easier for someone with a similar skill set, however anyone who is mechanically inclined should have no problem installing this. So, I have a 99 Ford Ranger and the ignition rod (part that controls the position of the ignition switch when turning the key) broke a couple years ago back and I had to dismount the ignition switch from the steering column and start the truck by manually moving the ignition switch to the proper position because replacing the ignition rod is labor intensive and involves removing the entire steering column from the vehicle. However after finding this product I decided to take a chance and try it and I’m so glad that I did because it worked out exactly how I wanted it to. It starts the vehicle and it also allows for the “accessory on” position of the ignition switch. You will need access to a wiring diagram for your vehicle’s ignition system in order to wire it up properly. It was a very easy install and for $24 and about 1.5-2 hours of time I am extremely impressed! Highly recommend, especially for an older vehicle that doesn’t have a PATS (Passive Anti Theft System).
