Even the $15 dock for this item came packaged really well. The reader is well made and very sturdy. It feels like opening a high dollar Apple product with the robust box. The only issue I have come across is that pairing to another device such as another phone/tablet has to be done manually by pushing the little button on the bottom of the device. The button is recessed to stop accidentally pushing it, however, this makes it require two hands to press it, making it where you have to lay your other device down to push the button. As for connection range between the bluetooth card reader and your device running the Square App, you can expect roughly 20-25ft before the card reader is no longer able to communicate with the Square App. The card/chip reader does auto reconnect to the last used device, making using it on one device pretty straight forward and reliable. The only issue I can see at the time of writing this review is that your customers might be concerned about popping their charge card in a handheld device that is not familiar to them.
