Review: Put Some Pep in Your Prep - I saw a late-night TV ad for a similar pull chop gizmo and decided to see what desertcart customers had to say about it. Then I saw this Kuhn Rikon model, read the rave reviews, and figured a Swiss company might have the "edge" when it came to sharp-bladed choppers. No joke! Compared to the Progressive slap chopper I had before, the blades of this pull chopper are razor-sharp. So sharp, in fact, that the company includes a plastic sleeve to cover the blades when not in use. And as another reviewer pointed out, the blades here only come in contact with the food, not the surface of a cutting board, so the blades should keep their sharp edge longer than those used by slap choppers. And while I used to have to slap and slap the plunger on the Progressive chopper to chop the food fine enough, three pulls or less on this whiz-bang device does the job lickety-split. In fact, I almost think this chopper works TOO well. I used it last night to chop onions, peppers, and celery for a spaghetti sauce, and it reduced the veggies to such fine pieces so quickly, I'm glad I didn't follow the instructions, which said five or more pulls on the string would be necessary. The device is also very easy to use -- just cut the pieces of food to fit inside the chopper, give a few pulls, and you're done. It's simple to clean as well. There really are only two parts to clean, the clear plastic cutting container and the blade assembly. The manufacturer tells you not to immerse the top assembly, so I just wiped the inside bottom of that piece with a damp sponge and dried it with a dish towel. What can I say? The Swiss Pull Chop makes quick work of food prep, and it's compact and easy to use. A winner in every way... Review: Worthwhile purchase , useful tool good quality - I love this thing for small chopping jobs.. when you don’t want to drag out that processor!. I was skeptical at first . I have lots of nice sharp knives , why do I need it? I’m a little OCD so if not every piece gets chopped the same size, well it isn’t going to work. This is good quality and well worth the money. High quality simple parts, sharp blades . Nice even chop for garlic , ginger, shallots , onions. It’s brilliant . All in one mirepoix … even chops stringy celery into nice even bits. Easy to clean and store though I rinse it clean and do not put in dishwasher because the lid has weep holes that collect water . Really such a useful, well engineered tool.

**Q: What's the diff. between this and the "chop chop"?**
A: The “chop-chop” is slightly larger 3 cups vs 2 cups for the “pull-chop”. The “chop-chop” also comes with a separate arm to help with chopping small amounts of herbs and garlic, basically it scrapes the bottom to lift the food into the path of the blades. There are a few esthetic differences as well. It looks like the “chop-chop” is a newer design and its currently $2 cheaper.

**Q: Can the top part be thoroughly cleaned (as not to leave damp inside)?**
A: The only actual hole in the lid is where the rope attaches to the handle on the side, the bottom can be wiped and rinsed clean without getting water inside the lid.  Now I wouldn't submerse the entire lid under water but it can be simply and carefully cleaned.  Above the metal blades on the center piece there is a plastic blade that spins to keep food bits from building up too much on the lid.

**Q: Does it chop garlic well?**
A: It's not that good for garlic, the garlic cloves tend to sit at the bottom and you wont get an even chop; however, it does work great with onions, tomatoes, herbs, and for making guacamole. I recently ordered my second chopper, I made the mistake of letting water go to the inside of the lid on the first one and the pulling cord got rotten and broke. I will make sure of taking better care of the second one.

**Q: How many blades does this pull chop have?**
A: There are two blades...one at the bottom and one closer to the top....there is also a plastic bar which is probably for grabbing and removing the blades for cleaning...it is not a blade.

Then I saw this Kuhn Rikon model, read the rave reviews, and figured a Swiss company might have the "edge" when it came to sharp-bladed choppers. No joke! I love this thing for small chopping jobs.. when you don’t want to drag out that processor!. I was skeptical at first . I have lots of nice sharp knives , why do I need it?
