This filter is large enough to make a whole pitcher, so depending on the pitcher, you would probably have to hold it in this case. To be honest, I didn't even look at the listing when I bought this, and I didn't realize it was as large as it is but I can say it is a nice and very well made product. **Q: Will this sit on a jug?** A: Yes, the Thika 5.5" Large Reusable Coffee/Tea Filter can sit on top of a jug or container while you pour hot water over the coffee or tea. The filter has a flat bottom that allows it to rest securely on top of a wide range of containers.
