ROKR is a very reputable manufacturer of these types of kits. It comes with picture instructions but no words, since it is sold around the world. You will need some mechanical aptitude to understand the diagrams, but some help from an adult will help you. The ORDER of assembly is very important. If you miss a step, you will be taking it back apart. Every thing fits together perfectly, which is amazing. No glue needed. Be careful taking the parts out of the sheets, since some are quite thin and fragile. Pay attention to where you are to sand or wax. These are not that well explained in the pictures. We did have some problems with getting all the parts to rotate with the music box. Don't give up. Just keep adjusting. This is probably the only real troublesome part. Overall, we love it

Love these puzzles!!! I bought this one as gift. So much fun to put together & it even has a little hidden spot to put jewelry in & locks.

This is the 2nd music box we have purchased from ROKR, enjoyable to listen to and put together is fun. It has the potential to be a beautiful product but once fully assembled it does not run smoothly, it needs manual assistance to play therefore it doesn't run without someone continually rotating the music knob. But it is nice to look at.

My son & I put this together in 1 afternoon. Good project to do with your kiddo. Would use needle nose pliers or tweezers to help. Our fingers were sore half way through bc some of the parts are small & you have to push them in tight spots. But once we were done it was gorgeous, plays well, & he was thrilled.

Beautiful, but absolutely non-functional. It works haltingly when we are assembling it (you can nudge it with a finger to loosen it when it binds up), but won't work at all when fully assembled. This has been an exercise in futility and frustration. The gears bind and it won't turn at all. We've disassembled and reassembled it multiple times. The music box motion is misaligned and keeps binding on one or two of the gears on the side walls. Customer service is responsive and polite but keeps asking questions rather than providing solutions. I'll adjust this review if they finally make it right.

This is a beautiful puzzle and i enjoyed putting it together. That being said, the music box aspect doesn't work i took this apart so that the music would play and while I'm no mechanic I'm pretty sure the tiny white plastic gear they're using isn't able to turn the larger wooden gear and subsequently the 6 medium size gears on the side. It's a shame but I'm still going to give this 3 stars just because it is pretty and i enjoyed the building process. If you're planning on buying this don't buy it for kids, even teens. Like all wooden puzzles, this requires patience and a delicate touch.

I bought this and built it for a Mother’s Day gift for my mother. She loved it, and my daughter wants me to buy another one to build her it as well. Fun to build, wasn’t too hard, and only broke one of the ballerinas but they gave extra in case which was awesome.

This was my first puzzle by this company. I was very excited about the “promise” of movement within the beautiful box, but it doesn’t work. I disassembled the gear structure so the music would work. I also didn’t like the spring at the top of the box. It all just didn’t seem to fix properly. But with lots of tweaks it became a beautiful box that just plays music. That was worth the low price and challenge of putting it together. But I recommend the vendor modify the design. I’ve read lots of reviews and it seems a considerable amount of people are experiencing the same issue.

it is ok as a decorative piece but not very functional i still like it for its appearance

It’s a fun activity. Just wish the gears worked better but for $35 Canadian it’s a cute little music box with a secret compartment! Also you can paint it if you like, I did

Some parts were very difficult. Trying to get everything to function correctly and cohesively was a challenge. Still not right even after Googling a “How to” video. Will be taking it a part for the 4th time this weekend.

Everything fits in place, but the pieces that are supposed to turn after winding up the music box, don't turn, even after waxing. It seems that the gears get stuck in place, but I don't know if it's that or I assembled it incorrectly. Other than that, it's a beautiful object.

I bought 3 other set for the same company I had difficulty with one other but th other one was with the music box not the assembly this one is literally impossible some piece are to big to fit in other. Some are to small and they are so easy to break. I’m super careful yet I still break some. Some of the mane piece don’t fit correctly and I just had to hot glue everything but even with hot glue it’s doesn’t stay in place it keep sliding out of place. I’m not quite done cuz I rage quit and it’s was really late but I’ll update with pictures and final result when I’m done
