Review: A little background. I wanted to create a mini at-home gym but, of course, I wanted it to also be super cute and inspiring :-) I managed to find most gym equipment in pink but, the weight plates were very difficult to find. I did manage to see some options online but they were from the USA and it was going to cost CAD$1,500 for the plates ALONE with converting USA to CAD dollar, plus shipping and estimated customs fee. I decided it was more efficient and economical to buy regular weight plates and spray paint them. :-) I got all my weight plates from desertcart (yeah Prime lol) and Canadian Tire spending just under $500!! So, 2 cans of spray paint totaling $60 was a deal to me. I know spray paint in-store are a 1/3 of the price but, nowhere had the Berry Pink I was specifically looking for. After saving $1,000 in sourcing the weight plates, $60 didn't seem like much to me. I've used the newly painted weight plates during my workouts and they are holding up perfectly. 2 cans allowed me to paint a total of 16 weight plates: 2 coats on 14 plates, and 3 coats on 2 plates. The only downside I experienced was on 2 of the rubber weight plates, for some reason it didn't work very well. I suspect these two rubber plates have a waterproof coating that makes it really hard for the spray paint to stick to so they started peeling. So, I have decided to buy a 3rd can, and this time, use an outdoor primer for rubber, then apply the spray paint again. But overall, I am very pleased with the results. The colour is a beautiful true-to-colour Berry Pink. Will this help?** A: Heavens to Betsy! For a few minutes there I was thinking "salad and wilted lettuce" were some new artsy Jargon I'd never heard about. **Q: Anyone used this on fabric/textile? I want to spray paint a round ottoman. If so, what were your results?** A: I used it on fabric (beige microfiber upholstery). The color came out less purple and much lighter than the cap even after 3 coats. It was more of a burgundy or merlot shade. The texture afterwards was rougher --similar to painted canvas. Nonetheless, I was very pleased with the results. It didn't rub off and the texture has begun to soften. **Q: I spray painted some plastic and metal but when it drys, the paint get chip off easly. How can i fix this problem??** A: Unfortunately, you will probably have to start over. The paint may not have adhered well. You can't really fix this...strip the paint (which won't take long if it is already coming off) and clean the object. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. The sand it. Use fairly fine sandpaper-you don't want scratches, but the paint needs something to hold on to. Paint and let it SIT for several days. You can then seal with polyurethane and let it sit a couple more days. Don't fall for those DIY TV shows that promise everything can be done in an afternoon! Doesn't work that way. Give the project time to "set" before you use it. And think about what you are using it for-if it is going to be subject to a lot of handling, maybe paint isn't the way to go. I have decoupaged (modge podge colorful papers and finish with sealer) many plastic items. Obviously not the best choice for outside use. just a thought. **Q: Can this be used on canvas** A: Once cured, this isn't flexible.
