Look at the total bandwidth being used of two monitors and if it exceeds roughly 24gbps, then the adapter won't handle it **Q: I have my eyefinity 3 monitor setup and want to add a forth, can I use this adapter, and is it active?** A: Note that previous answers were from 2015.
