Does the squat rack go down low enough to use as bench press?

Accepted Answer

Since the pieces of the frame join in the middle with a couple of bolts, the holes above and below the join can't be used effectively, which means I have a choice between a little low and a little high for my bench press.  Making the DIY pins that one of the reviewers mentioned could help with this since they push straight through and don't slide on, so the bolts won't stop them from locking in.

Is the rack stable enough for pullups and toes to bar?  Thanks!

True kipping is about bringing toes to the bar without the use of a swing (unless you are a gymnast incorporating a glide into the move). It is an insanely difficult exercise that utilizes abdominal, psoas and hip flexor strength so no idea what Kelly is talking about. As no swinging is required any bar strong enough to support one's weight should support this exercise as when done correctly is essentially a very quiet graceful movement, the body hangs still as the legs raise up and down.

does this mean the maximum weight capacity itself is 300 + the user capacity is 300 so overall 600

Accepted Answer

Nope.  300 lb of weight on the catches max and up to 300 lb user weight for the pullup bar.  Not to be combined.

Can this rack support rings and 245 lbs for dips...

I'm 180lbs and have been doing sets of 30 pull-ups a day four times week for the last 4 months on this plus I hung my rings from the top bar as well and have been doing the same thing with ring dips and there has been NO bending.  The top bar seems very solid.  The side bars are 2 separate pieces so make sure they are very tight using a socket wrench, not the tool they send you.  But again I've had NO problems at my current weight.  But as all reviews said including mine; if there is kipping involved and it's not bolted down it will absolutely move and flex.  Keep it fairly strict.  I can do a little kip but the moment I try any ridiculous kipping it slides around.My only hesitation for giving you a direct yes is I simply don't know how much flexing there would be at 245 pounds and the top rate for this is 300.  At 180 it's fine.  I hope that helps at least a little bit.
