## Description

The NEW Juki TL-2010Q is a high-performance sewing and quilting machine. The TL-2010Q is a single needle, lock-sch, portable machine, constructed of aluminum die-casting to ensure industrial-quality sewing. With advanced features, such an industrial sub-tension system, variable speed control slider, and bright white LED lighting, this machine is built for precision sewing. With a large work area of up to 23 inches (with auxiliary table attached), the TL-2000Qi can handle large quilt, sewing or home decor project with ease. The New TL-2010Q allows you to trim top and bobbin threads using the Exclusive foot controlled trimming system. Just rock your heel back on the foot control, and thread is quickly and precisely cut. The machine is also equipped with an automatic thread button that simultaneously trims the needle and bobbin threads at the sewing end by lightly pressing the push-button. Both the Trim Button and the Foot Controller engage the advanced Juki industrial style thread trimming mechanism. It also keeps the thread from quivering when sewing at high speeds and provides accurate, fine tuned thread tension. The machine also has the thread tension scale, which allows you to adjust the tension according to the thread and material to be used. The new speed control lever gives you complete control over sewing speed. The microcomputer controlled, speed control mechanism, allows the machine to sew materials at low speeds. This provides for accurate feed and perfect sching when sewing heavy weight fabric, quilting and multiple layers of materials. When you stop sewing, the machine will stop with the needle in the down position to allow for pivoting or more accurate free motion work. The push lever automatic needle threader easily threads the needle without eyestrain and allows you to start sewing quickly. The knee lifter level allows you to lift/lower the presser foot without using your hands. The presser foot can be raised as high as 12mm.

Review: TOTALLY LOVE - This machine is amazing! I have several very expensive machines including embroidery etc. but this is the best machine I have had for piecing, quilting, straight sewing etc. High speed and does what it does well. No needle or thread breaks - makes any kind of sewing on it TOTALLY a pleasure. Couple of comments: 1) It was difficult to understand which feet came with it. Mine came with the standard foot, zipper foot, free motion foot, and walker foot. The walker foot does not have the hole for inserting a guide rod - will have to look into that. 2) Deciding between the 2000 and the 2010. The 2000 only came with the standard foot and the walker foot. If you buy the zipper foot, free motion foot, it will cost about $86 for the two. The difference in cost on the two machines is $269 minus the two feet, it ends up being $183 different. What do you get for the $183? Worth it to me because this machine will last and be used for a long time. Main difference below. 3) If you free motion you will appreciate the slide for speed control... then you can floor it and know that you won't instantly go too fast to effect your stitch length. It really is nice to be able to control the speed depending on your project, and change it mid stream no problem. 4) The pretension - makes more flexibility for you on the kinds of thread and fabric you might like to use. I TOTALLY LOVE THIS MACHINE! Being able to sew, clip threads, raise and lower foot, etc. and have my hands free to control my sewing at the same time is wonderful. Just so great to have something so dependable and simple to sew with. I made two quilt tops the first two days and immediately jumped into free motion - all without getting stressed! LOVE IT!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the size of the throat on this machine?**
A: The actual size of the throat is 8 1/2". That is measuring from machine to needle point. Let us know if we can help you further.

**Q: When was this machine manufactured? How long is the warranty?**
A: I don't know. I bought my first one two years ago and a second one a year ago (for a second home). So I imagine they were manufactured the year I bought them. I never worried about the warranty because I've owned Jukis before. both commercial and semi-professional and have never had any problem. As far as I'm concerned, they could be sunk with the Titanic, brought up again, and they would still sew. This machine is tough and reliable.

**Q: How much oil should I be using? Is it possible to over oil it, and would that do any damage to the machine?**
A: I was overdoing with the oil, putting some in daily until there was a puddle underneath. I wouldn't even oil after 2 bobbins now, and am careful to only put one drop in each hole when I do oil (per the tech's instructions, and I definitely wouldn't do 3 drops). I wait to oil until I see a change in how the machine is sewing, it can start to feel rough. And I always sew on some scrap fabric after oiling to get the extra off.

**Q: Has anyone had problems with this machine? I had to return the first one to Juki because the machining of the needle hole was wrong.**
A: I don't like the walking foot that comes with the machine as each time I use it afterwards the stitch quality doesn't look as good. It also doesn't have a guide bar, such a basic piece of equipment and I don't understand why there isn't a guide bar included. Other than that my 2016 Juki hasn't given me any problems.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Like Butter
*by E***H on 2 July 2017*

I've had my Juki TL-2010Q for a couple of weeks now. I'm a quilter with years of experience in the past with garment sewing (although I don't do that anymore). I have a Singer Quantum Stylist 9960 which has a surprising amount of features for the price I paid 4 years ago. I've had some problems with the electronics, but other than that, it's been a nice machine. But I wanted to upgrade, and one of the main reasons was, I don't have the budget to send my quilts out to be long-armed, and I've become pretty good at free-motion quilting. The Singer just doesn't have a lot of throat room, and I thought I could improve my overall experience with a better machine. After months of research, I decided that instead of upgrading my electronic machine, I wanted a straight-stitch, more industrial type machine to use for piecing and free-motion work, with the intention of keeping my Singer for when I need zig-zag or other fancier stitches. I do applique and other projects that require that. I finally decided on the Juki TL-2010Q, and it is everything I hoped it would be. PROS: It sews like butter, so smooth, and the stitches are the most even I've seen. It's very solid and comes with an enormous extension table (almost twice as big as what came on my Singer). I've had an opportunity to use all its features, and the free-motion quilting allows me to do the best work I've ever done, with so much control, and with the additional help of the very large throat to allow me to stuff a bulky quilt in there. The threading of the machine is not super simple like it is on my Singer; but once I got the hang of it, no problem. It winds the most even bobbins I've ever seen - they are perfect. And is this machine fast - because of that, the speed control's a real help. Needle up/down is great, so is the ability to cut the thread in 3 different places, the foot pedal, the button on the front of the machine, and the thread cutter in back of the needle. The threading and side-load bobbin are no problem, especially if you have experience with older machines like I do. The Juki doesn't come with a huge amount of attachments, but I really think what comes with it is sufficient; and it's especially nice to get a real quality walking foot. CONS: The user manual is terrible, very little explanation with awful pictures. But there are enough videos on youtube for it not to matter much. As with most sewing machines, the lighting is dim, but I bought an led light strip which I attached underneath the throat area, and it is lit up beautifully now. That was an extra expense that was well worth it. My only real complaint is the needle threader. It took me a long time to figure out how to use it, and only after watching countless youtube videos over and over. The one on my Singer works like a breeze, so this one was very frustrating. I find that I still have a problem with it, as it sticks in the down position. I think I may have found videos on how to fix that problem, as others have encountered it, but I won't bother myself with that right now - I just thread the needle by hand. I know this was a long review, but when I was doing my research, I wanted to know specifics about the machines I was interested in. I hope I've helped someone else to make an informed decision. All in all, this is a dream machine. I bought it for a specific purpose, and it serves that purpose like a champ.
