I like taking Solgar CoQ-10 because it utilizes Kaneka Q10. Kaneka is a company that manufactures the purest commercial grade CoQ-10 available in the United States. Kaneka Q10® is the only yeast-fermented CoQ10 and doesn’t contain the impurities that can be found in synthetically processed CoQ10. I also like that Solgar sells CoQ-10 in both forms, as ubiquinone (this product) and ubiquinol (which offers better bioavailability to people over the age of 40 or for anyone who takes statins). What I appreciate most, though, is Solgar’s size. These are smaller and so much easier to swallow than other brands I’ve tried. The photo compares a Solgar’s orange softgel with a different brand of CoQ-10 having the same 100 mg. It’s twice the size—the Solgar’s softgel isn’t much bigger than a pea. I take a handful of supplements every day—it helps when a few are as small as these.
