BlueFire 1200 Lumen Super Bright XM-L2 LED Handheld Flashlight with Adjustable Focus and 5 Light Modes, Outdoor LED Torch, Tactical Flashlight for Camping & Hiking - desertcart.com

Review: Super Bright & Super Support - I use flashlights every single day for security reasons and have been using them for years. I have amassed a collection of flashlights for work in security and law enforcement since the early 1990's and have paid well over $100.00 dollars for a single flashlight while demanding a reliable light that is bright, rechargeable, durable and functional. I received my BlueFire in November and was absolutely impressed with how bright the beam is and how far that brightness extends. The beam focuses from a a tiny (6" x 6") square at three feet to maybe 30' x 30' at 200 yards and that is without adjusting the beam. I don't need a flashlight to illuminate beyond 200 feet for how I use it it, much less 200 yards, longer distances (or shorter) can easily be met by using a spot light. But this flashlight is comparable in size to my professional and expensive tactical flashlight for a fraction of the cost, and its way way brighter! I'm impressed! This is the brightest hand-sized flashlight I have ever owned. This flashlight allows you to use 3 "AAA" batteries or you can instead use rechargeable lithium 3600mAh batteries. I purchased the Outlite 18650 rechargeable batteries also from desertcart to feed my light which seems like a really good choice thus far. Unfortunately within only a few weeks, with frequent and repeated use the front lens came loose and unseated itself. I was disappointed and resorted to using a backup flashlight until I decided what I would do with the now ineffective flashlight. The BlueFire Tech Support reached out to me so I responded back to them and let them know about my issue. All I asked for was a solution to the problem. What truly blows me away is that they responded within only minutes to my email, minutes from sending it they had replied to my request, WOW! These guys care about their reputation and in turn, their customers. After another email exchange they sent a replacement flashlight a day later. That was over a week ago that I received the replacement and I am happily satisfied with the response they provided me. So much so, I ordered two more flashlights and I am putting them through their paces to find out if these lights will stand the test of time. I hope these flashlights will last a minimum of a year and I'll be totally pleased. I don't test with scientific methods like water proof, drop tests or lumen test to see how bright they actually are. I only use the flashlights throughout the course of my day and they perform well. I give BlueFire Tech Support five stars for customer service as well as five stars for a highly useful, inexpensive, bright flashlight. I think 2 things could improve the flashlight further: 1) adjusting the beam could be made to be a smoother process, and 2) If the flashlight had no smooth surfaces it would be less slippery in a sweating hand. I'm not saying these are flaws, just that these improvements would increase the value of the flashlight for me. (and probably increase the cost in the process) Again, to sum it up this is a good flashlight at a good price and now I'm a fan of BlueFire.
Review: Super bright, clear winner! - I ordered 4 different small LED torch flashlights to run a comparison test. This BlueFire 1,200 Lumen XML-L2 flashlight was the winner! Let me start off by saying if you've only ever had mag lights or flashlights you can buy at the local hardware store, these will blow you out of the water. So any of these 4 will have impressive light output over a standard flashlight. However, I did want to rate & rank these 4 compared to each other if anyone was debating between them. I do NOT receive discounts for free products for my reviews; the goal is to provide consumers with additional comparison opinions and information that was not available to me when I was shopping for these flashlights. All four torches in the test will take three AAA batteries and some can take other rechargeable batteries as well. And they all look remarkably similar like they were all manufactured in the same plant. All 4 are super lightweight. The four flashlights I purchased were the CrazyFire 600 XML-T6 with the green push button, the CrazyFire E17 XML-T6 with the orange push button, the Refun 600 XML-T6, and the BlueFire 1200 XML-L2. I am rating them from 1-4, #1 being the brightest and #4 being the least bright. 1. BlueFire 1200 XML-L2. 1,200 lumens. 5 switch modes: high / medium / low / strobe / SOS. This was the brightest of the four torches tested. Natural color light. You would think that 1,200 lumens would be double the brightness of 600 lumens but I don't observe that is the case. Definitely brighter than the 600 lumens but not a very distinguishable difference between this one and the #2 ranked CrazyFire 1,000 lumens. 2. CrazyFire E17 XML-T6. 1,000 lumens. Orange push button. 5 switch modes: high / medium / low / strobe / SOS. Bluish tinge to the light color. Almost as bright as the BlueFire 1,200 lumens. 3. Refun 600 XML-T6. 600 lumens. Zoom with 5 switch modes: high / medium / low / strobe / SOS. Natural color light. Tied with #4 for brightness. 4. CrazyFire 600 XM-L T6. 1,000 lumens. Zoom with 5 switch modes: high / medium / low / strobe / SOS. Green push button. Purchased 8 months ago but put in fresh batteries for the comparison test. It doesn't put out what appears to be 1,000 lumens; it is on par with the 600 lumens Refun torch. Bluish tinge to the light color.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: The entire barrel is a solid and there are no moving parts whatsoever, how do you zoom?**
A: it doesn't zoom in or out, nice and bright but no zoom

**Q: Is there built-in battery protection circuitry?**
A: For those using the Li Ion 18650 cell (which is about 25% brighter than the AAA cell option), there is no heat or amp draw protection. Its basically a straight switch.

**Q: Can I buy a replacement switch for this model?**
A: Dear William,If you have any quality problem with this flashlight, just contact us, we will reship you a new one for free to try again.

**Q: Is it better to use 1 x 3.7v 18650 battery or 3x aaa battery**
A: The LED chip is rated at 10 watts. There is no way that 3xAAA (1.5 volt) batteries can produce that, maybe 5 watts because AAA batteries are limited to about 1 amp of current. The 18650 battery can easily supply 10 watts to the chip. Also the 18650 battery stores around 13 watt-hours of energy. 3 high quality AAA batteries are only going to store a total of 5.4 watt-hours.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bright light, nice focus, best with 18650 battery
*by N***K on January 2, 2017*

Lens evenly distributes light at all zoom levels. At max zoom, the light is focused into a square with small dots inside which doesn't bother me at all. Not as bright as the Anker LC90, but also more affordable. It is less bright than the LC90 (touted at 900 lumens). After purchasing this 3 months ago, I was unhappy about the AAA battery holder making disconnections while jogging (and changing the beam mode), but recently I've had access to the 18650 battery which fits into the flashlight tighter and no longer changes modes while jogging. The light is also brighter coming out of the flashight with this type of battery - definitely recommended and increases brightness to boot. Using an amp-meter, I've compared the power draw with both battery types: 18650 battery (Anker's 3000mAh) at 3.86v High: 1.23A Med: 0.51A Low: 0.29A 3xAAA Eneloop NiMH included case at 3.86v High: 0.81A Med: 0.42A Low: 0.22A We can see there is a much higher power draw with the 18650 battery and that translates into much higher light output. Pros + Affordable + Nice light spread + Flexible power output Cons + Less bright than expected, but still leaves incandecent Maglights in the gloom
