Great Box, but….
The latch that holds the cover closed is really REALLY TIGHT! There is a slot for a screwdriver to pop it open but when you first get it out of the box the latch is so tight that you will damage the cover prying it open. I called Raco and Garrett explained to that the latch should be oiled a tiny bit and cycled by hand (uninstalled) many times to reduce the force needed to open the cover. If you turn the cover over and put your thumb(s) on the underside and press really hard you can pop it open. I have arthritis so I had to tap it with a screwdriver and hammer to get it open the first time. I then oiled it and was able to open and close it with my weak old hands. After about 20 cycles it was much easier to open and the prying method worked easily then. They’re really nice boxes and the covers are really well made and look great when installed.

Has alot of adjustment
Put this in the carpeted hardwood floor for a powered love seat. Pretty easy install after figuring out where the hole should go and not hit any floor joints/ etc. Take your time and plan it out. Drill a small hole in the center of the expected spot first to make sure everything will line up. I had no direct access underneath, so I had to fish the wire through. Appears to be well made and fits well. Face Plate is beefy too.

Sturdy and nice looking
I had someone help install because I’m no comfortable dealing with electricity. The box feels sturdy and well made and came with everything you needed to install it. I also think it compliments the wood floor; even though It will be covered up by our couch. Instruction were easy to follow. The only two draw back I have are. 1. The hinge is difficult to get open for the first time. I had to read the comments from others so that I didn’t feel like I was going to break it. 2. I would prefer it didn’t come with the actual electrical plug because that was a waste for me. As you can see by the picture I swapped it out for my own Leviton smart plug. I’m not going to take away because of this because most folks want turn key.

Well manufactured easy to install
I like how well it fits and looks. The only thing that prevents me from giving the device 5 stars is that they shipped it with only two screws. Now I have to match the screws which is not easy done. It was nice not to have to go out and find all the pieces to get the job done. Except for the screws!! A note the plug of the power strip that plugged in stuck out of the slot. I also liked the locking top plate that keeps the plugs trapped.

Very good looking and well made floor fixture
I installed this into a hardwood floor. The nice thing about this it the box accepts any standard box receptacle, like electrical, HDMI, ethernet, usb jacks, etc. Just like in a box in a wall. I used a drill at the four corners and then a jigsaw. Worked fine. finished the various cutouts for the nuts and tabs with a chisel. Everything fit tight but well. Everything screwed in a it looks great. I used this to run a cat 7 ethernet cable through the floor into the basement to connect to a high speed router I have mounted under the steps in the approximate center of our house. It is well made. The box is mounted to the floor with four wood screws and then you mount the cover plate over this with the rubber foam seal underneath on top of that with four more wood screws that match the finish that you selected for your install. I predrilled a small hole to help make sure the screws ran straight and true. Works well. I used flat Cat 7 cable so I just ran it out under the rubber insert and it still looks good. If I need to make another floor mounted box install, I will use this if it will work with what I want to do.

Not hard to install but takes time.
Please turn off breaker before you begin this project. The first step is to find a suitable location for the floor outlet with another outlet nearby by using a 14 gauge Romex to piggyback from. Next, cut the floor. I used a jigsaw for this project. It makes cutting easier. Have shop vac ready! You don’t need to use all the screws but make sure it’s not loose. Wire everything correctly, and use receptacle tester to check. Adjust the side screws so the floor box cover can fit into the junction box. Don’t forget the gasket! Next, screw in the four screws for the cover, but I only use two. LASTLY, enjoy the fruit of your labor. P.S. You can also pay a handyman $150-$200, material not included.

Almost milspec in its functionality and durability.
I have other make floor receptacles in my home now but experience has proven them deficient in 2 ways, the item that is plugged in extends above the floor level and can be bumped and broken by furniture movement (this has happened.) Also, when entertaining we sometimes move furniture and leave the floor receptacles in the open. Though fairly well-made of machined brass, the cover plates have to be covered with their supplied silver-dollar-sized threaded inserts when not in use. These inserts are a real hassle to install/remove and we are perpetually misplacing them. Also, dirt and crumbs seem to gravitate to the plug. Comes now the Hubbell floor receptacle. First it's a duplex, accommodating 2 plugs. Next the receptacle itself is sunk deep and protects the plug below floor level. The heavy-duty steel electrical box is screw-adjustable over a range of 3/4" to accommodate flooring height or height changes for remodel work down the road. Attached rubber inserts cover an unused cord paths to keep "Cheetos" from falling in. And lastly, the cover is attached with a hinge and a sprung bearing catch that means the cover is never lost and it closes reassuringly to protect the plug with only the cord rising from the provided opening. This floor receptacle is not the plastic junk that seems to be so abundant nowadays, it is built for commercial duty and will last for decades. I would thing nothing of a chair leg resting directly on top of the Hubbell. Looks great too.

Me llegó antes de lo programado, ya lo esperaba por que es un producto que necesitaba para colocar contactos en el piso y esconde muy bien las clavijas de los aparatos, lo instale en un pequeño gimnasio en la casa y no me quedan cables estorbando por el piso

Built solid! I really like the product but it took me a bit to figure out how they wanted it installed because there were no directions. I swapped out the outlet itself with a gfi one and it worked great. (original outlet was fine but I wanted gfi)
