You could travel with it. It is a shorter and faster game with fewer players. I like it. **Q: Can this be used as an expansion with the original game if not, is there an expansion?** A: This game is a stand-alone. It's "coffee-table" sized and has no expansions. For more info, I can play a 2-player game of this in 10-15 minutes. A 2-player game of the base TTR would likely take closer to 45. If you're looking for different things to try, consider map packs. You'll need the base game to play those. **Q: How large is the map?** A: The board is about 11 x 18 inches. The map itself is considerably tighter than other Ticket to Ride maps, with only 15 stops total. **Q: For kids, would this version or ttr first journey be best?** A: It depends on the group playing.
