Only your ends, or you will have greasy looking hair. I suggest you let your ends soak it up, so maybe it's something best applied when you have a few hours. Afterwards, salt sprays do not dry out your hair, or at least fry the ends of your hair. This method has been unnecessary with this salt spray, which makes hair care a lot easier. If you are going to get this product, I have a method that works amazing to achieve the best look. I use a spray bottle to get my hair somewhere between damp and wet, and set a towel on the back of my couch. I then rest my head on this towel to keep my couch from getting wet, and spray the salt spray all over. I then let it air dry until it's either dry or damp. If you don't have a lot of time on your hands, using a hair dryer is effective as long as you've given your hair time to dry a little bit. It seems like it needs to soak up the salt spray before you start with the blow dryer. This product does not work on dry hair, so don't waste your time trying that. If I could afford it, I would buy this every month. The smell is very natural, and barely noticeable. It fades within a few hours of applying.
