Coolpix P950 Digital Camera International Version - Black

I am a compete novice on cameras and don't even have a smart phone. I was looking for a camera that I could capture wild life around Scotland . The zoom lens is simply spot on . For the cost I don't think you could buy anything better .Recommended and easy to use .

Great but heavy camera, its bigger than i expected but trips to the gym will overcome this.I have only had it a few hours but am enjoying it already.No operation or quick start manual, i have similar cameras so not phased by this but dissapointed all the same.I am very disappointed to find the enclosed charger only fits USA socket types. I had paid extra for what I assumed was a UK model.

Bought after having a lumix fx82 I can see an improvement in picture clarity and the camera focusing faster. It is a little heavy but nothing to make any difference. Batteries last very well. I had bought spares after what I’d read but haven’t needed them yet. Like the scene mode but have only just started experimenting with that. Bird and auto modes good. I always use a monopod when taking pictures of wildlife that makes it easier to use. Has a feel of quality but I wish it had a lense cap that would attach more easily. Very difficult to find a decent case which is a complaint against most cameras. Some pictures can seem dull and then refocus in an instant brighter. I think weather conditions always affect any performance which is not always taken into account. Wi fi connectivity has proven very difficult. The lack of a touch screen makes it a bit dated but it’s the picture quality which matters and that’s been good.Overall I’m very pleased. It was a lot of money to me.

Nice camera but didn't come with the user manual and no warranty. Very disappointed as I've tried contacting seller they do not respond.

Camera is a "Grey Import", not meant for use in UK. Is not covered by Nikon Warranty. Do not buy! this version.

I assume international version means a grey import. Made in Asia for the Asian market then shipped to the UK. Camera manafacturers do not like this and it will be impossible to register the one year guarantee.

I owned the P900 previously so was able to get used to the P950 very quickly. If this is totally new to you I suggest you get guide on the P950 other than the basic booklet and manual provided by Nikon. It can produce good to excellent zoomed in shots to Macro shots. ( with practice) No need to carry a load of Lenses, but I suggest getting a Mono pod, or shoulder Pod to steady long Zoom tracking shots. Get some spare batteries ( as some may find the Battery life a bit short, 290-350 shots)

Over all the Nikon P950 is a really easy to use and to get comfortable using. I like the camera for it’s ease of use and control going totally auto mode or anywhere in between the many options to personalization mode. I bought this camera for a specific reason to take on an African Safari, I feel this camera will be wonderful for taking bird and animal shots from a good distance which is the strong point of the camera, the zoom abilities is unbelievable. Recommend this camera for individuals learning the world of photography.

Easy to handle

Nice product. Suitable for Ameture and travellers who dislike the hassles of carrying a full frame camera and lens..It is a best of the compact cameras that Nikon makes.. Weight is about 1000 grams with battery and SD Card, making light on the shoulder / neck. 83x zoom is adequate at 2000mm. Fairly good for low light photography. Hand and compact appearance, easy to use. I would have liked an additional appeture stop from 6.7 to 8. Still takes great photos. The USP of the camera is zoom. Value for money.
