Purchased for a dog I'm getting soon, but the cat has taken a liking to it already. My wife suggested we might need a second one for the dog. It's not solid foam, it's like balls of soft material - some reviews claim not to like it, but the pets don't seem to mind it at all. It comes sealed in a surprisingly small package, which was actually hard to break into. But I left it to 'settle' for two days before anyone was allowed to use it and it's plumped uo quite nicely. Edit 1 month later: beds standing up well to daily use. Puppy dog has been on it for the past 3 weeks and not broken into it - it's also been washed since and tolerated. We've not yet tumble dried it, though. The puppy dog finds it very comfy and will happily snooze on it. We've now purchased a bigger one for other part of the house and in preparation of him getting bigger. (Edit: bigger version isn't as plump as the two medium sized version we have. The dog still finds it comfortable, but it's not the same) - bear in mind we have three of these beds now.
