i bought and installed filter, but it doesn't seem to be working. no water seems to have entered the filter?? can you help?

First off, I really can't answer that question with out looking to make sure you have installed it correctly. Did you take the cap off? Did you try another filter? Did your other filter that you replaced it with work? Did you order the right size for your refrigerator? If you can answer all of those questions as yes then contact the company or send them back and buy a factory filter.

How many water filters are there in this package?

There are three filters in the package, enough for at least 1 1/2 years.

I only have an ice maker. Do I need to do anything special upon install?

you will need to toss out the first few loads of ice, it will have very noticeable charcoal residue. Goes away quickly as I recall. I also just had the icemaker.
