How do I set the swing temperature to prevent furnace from cycling so much?

HEAT SWING - Set system switch to HEAT, press both the + and- buttons together for 3 seconds. Use the + or - key to adjust the swing from +/-0.2 to +/- 2 degrees F. Slide system switch to Heat/Cool position or wait approximately 15 seconds to return to normal operation COO SWING - Set system switch to COOL and follow above instructions.

We have gas heat and electric ac. Which setting do we use on the back of the unit

If you labeled the original wires from the old thermostat to match the New thermostat , and Not knowing how your wiring system looks, it’s hard for me to know. But As it says in the book, If the original wire from the old to the new thermostat is hooked up to the G terminal which is your fan relay, then you put the switch in the (Electric Position) . I hope this helps.

My room temp. seems to be set higher then the real room timp. ?

"Room" temp is not "Set", it fluctuates as the space temp changes. Most thermostats works within a + or - range of actual temperature. That said, be sure you can absolutely trust the thermometer giving you an opposing reading. If the temp on the wall thermostat is way off you may need to return for a replacement.

How do I set the hold temp?

Set the temperature and it will stay at that temperature. This is non-programable ...... Only Hold would be necessary on a programmable unit.
