No, you can't directly hook up the newly cut section of lights to your landscape transformer. Your transformer outputs 12V AC electricity. The lights need 12V DC electricity. Included with each set of lights is a rectifier that converts AC to DC electricity. You would connect the rectifier to your landscape transformer. And then the lights to the rectifier.
