Excellent product. I address the negative reviews. Read on..
I looked through the 1 star reviews after buying, installing and using several of these switches. I'm not affiliated with Amazon OR the company that sells these. I just hate seeing folks mislead by people who incorrectly install, don't know HOW to install, cause the item to fail by installing it incorrectly or just wanna whine about it being small or the screws being small to hold the wire. Let's take it step by step so maybe this will help some of you. Complaint: The switch IS small. Response: Yes it is. That's the whole point. Make a small switch that is easy to install, works great, and is a good value for the money. Complaint: "The screws are too small and you can't wrap the wire around them" Response: You've obviously been out of the electical industry for a while. The screws are not meant to have the wires wrapped around them. The screws are set into a clamping box that you insert the wire into. The screw then tightens down on the wire. Therefore you can use up to a 1/4" lamp cord to install it on. That doesn't mean a smaller wire won't work. It will because the screw tightens down ONTO the wire just like most good quality electrical outlets and circuit breakers in your electrical panel do. It's a proven system and a good one. Complaint: "I installed the wire into the switch and it blew up/caught fire/burned up". Response: Installing wire will usually require the stripping of insulation. If you incorrectly cut off too much insulation, you leave exposed wires in close proximity to eash other which can cause overheating/shorts/and even fire or total failure of the switch. You should not have exposed wire outside of the wire screw box. Complaint: "I installed the wires and screwed them down but they are so tiny they keep flopping around" Response: There is a strain relief inside the switch that will clamp the wires down holding them in place, if you install it correctly(as it comes from the factory) Complaint: "The switch is hard to click on and off". Response: Yes, it's rugged and built to last many cycles of switching. The main takeaway is this: electricity and electric devices (even lamps) are not something to play around with. If you don't know how to proficiently install something that deals with electricity, please get someone to do it who knows what they're doing. Don't do it incorrectly and then blame a perfectly good product. You could hurt yourself or even cause a fire. Safety first! I hope this helps. BTW, I tried two of these and liked them so well I bought 8 more!!

Good screw terminals and switches off both wires for added safety!
This switch worked exceptionally well for me, and it seems to be much better quality than broken switch it replaced. I only needed one, but it came with two, so I have a spare to use later, which is a great value! 1. I noticed some other reviewers complained about the screw terminals, but I really liked them. In my experience, they were easy to use and made solid connections. I used 16 AWG stranded copper wire, and after stripping to the correct length and twisting the strands neatly, they fit into the terminal perfectly. I much prefer this to the old style lamp switches that rely on puncturing the wire's insulation with a sharp blade to make the electrical connection. I always worry those blades could result in a poor connection that could eventually become a fire hazard. 2. One reviewer actually burned a switch, but I zoomed in on their photo and it was clear that they left a lot of exposed wire outside the terminals, so I'm not surprised it burned. The two wires either touched one another or else got close enough to arc. When installing stranded wires into screw terminals, you do need to take care to strip only the proper length of wire that is needed to fit into the terminal. If you strip too much, cut off the excess before installing. You don't want to leave exposed wires outside the terminals where they could touch one another or arc. One of my attached photos shows a good example of how to wire this switch correctly. You'll notice that the wire is insulated right up to the terminal, so no exposed wire is hanging outside the terminal. 3. I also noticed a reviewer criticized this switch because it actually switches off both wires, hot and neutral. The reviewer said a switch only needs to switch off the hot wire, which is technically true, but only if both the plug and the outlet are polarized and wired correctly. I think switching off both wires is a great benefit because it provides added safety. Consider that many older homes still have two-prong outlets, which are ungrounded and unpolarized. I've also seen many two prong cords still in circulation that are unpolarized, meaning both prongs are the same size instead of one being bigger. If either your plug or your outlet is unpolarized, that means the plug will fit into the outlet both ways, so you have a 50/50 chance that the hot and neutral will be reversed when you plug it in. Why does this matter? Your lamp (or device) won't care, because it's alternating current. But if you installed a switch that only switches the hot wire, and you plug in the plug so the hot and neutral are reversed, then your lamp socket (or device) will be energized (hot) while the switch is off, introducing a shock risk! This switch eliminates that risk by switch off both wires.

Robust, smooth operation
Made a second purchase of these switches... both were 4 packs. Used up the first pack with no issues with operation. Wiring is pretty much straight forward, hardware appears robust and toggling is smooth and solid during use. Bought the second pack because I needed to wire up something else. These things are a great option if you need an in-line switch.

Good switch, make sure you know what you're ordering
Good switches. Note that the inline switches are different from the lamp cord switches. Look closely at the pictures before ordering. The inline switches give you less to work with: tiny screws, small wire holes, and you don't have the additional "wire clamp" that is on the lamp switch. However, they still work well if you are careful. I ordered the inline switch, 2 pack in white to replace a failing switch on an IKEA LED desk lamp. The screw holes are small, and you are securing fine wires with just these. It should be firm but not overtightened. Also, when you snap the switch case back together, that provides security as it holes the main wire in place. It took me 2 attempts to get one of the wires gently but firmly secured, overall maybe 15 minutes. It's been safe and solid for a month. The switch feels more sturdy than what came with the lamp. Happy with it & recommend!

Solid in line switch, good size.
Works great for the hard to reach light switch on the lamp. Decent price and size. Tools, wire strippers, bikes, and small head Philips screwdriver. Tip: back out wire screws before start. Strain relief built-in.

Install isn't easy but the result is robust and confidence inspiring.
Well constructed switch. If you can replace a wall plug you can install this switch. My local hardware store had a rotary version with little pins that punched through the wire coating to make a contact. It sorta worked but didn't feel secure. This switch does require you to know how to strip wire and install it to the switch body. Once the wiring is done the toggle is screwed on with two screws and you're in business. The install process is straightforward and obvious. I'm not even sure I looked at instructions. This is an excellent switch for the cost. I'm very impressed.

Works well, you will need a small screwdriver
Most importantly, MARK YOUR WIRES. Like, wrap yellow tape around 1 of the two wires so when you cut them you know which side goes where. You'll need a small screwdriver, as the screws inside the switch are indeed tiny. I was able to install this switch pretty easily with just basic tools: the screwdriver, needle nose pliers and a razor blade to strip the insulation from the wires. Works a lot better than plugging/unplugging these accent lights every night

Top notch quality.. not cheap plastic.
Awesome quality, very well built and. It cheap plastic. Was actually hard to ply open the top and bottom case as they were so well sealed even with it the screws holding it together. My gauge if wire was a bit tight but was able ro get them into their spots. Sealed it all up and BOOM, a handy switch reachable come our bed side night tables. Well worth the purchase and now wondering what other lamps I can use these on. A++++++

Good switches. Great price.
They work very well they’re a great price. The biggest challenge is having the patience to fit the wire and work with small screw screws, but that’s normal.
