Whats the endurance of this drive. IE. The amount of writing it can complete before failing?

WD rates their 1TB blacks at 600tbw. And that’s a worse case rating that you have a 99 percent chance of being able to exceed number. Unless you’re a enterprise server this drive will last you a decade plus.

Will this work with an Alienware r8?

Not the way you want it to. The R8 is restricted to pcie gen 3 speeds. This drive would work in the R8 at gen 3 speeds. You would not see the full capability of this drive. The only current systems that work at pcie gen 4 speed are AMD Zen 2 and Zen 3 CPUs on X570 and B550 chipset motherboards. The R8 uses an Intel CPU and the Z370 chipset.
