The UAV Bits Gimbal Clamp replaces the factory gimbal clamp that tends to fall off during transport of the Phantom 3. It is a unique design made especially for the Phantom 3 and will fit both the Advanced and the Professional versions. Constructed of a beautiful translucent orange material that glitters and shines in the sunlight, this clamp is tough enough to handle any road trip. The rigid design insures maximum protection for your Phantom 3 camera and gimbal. Unlike other lens caps that cover and rub against the lens, the UAV Bits lens cover never touches the lens, nor will it ever trap dirt and grit against the lens as snap on lens caps tend to do. The Gimbal Clamp can be adjusted for tightness by lightly sanding the retention areas until just the right amount of retention is attained, for a custom fit.     good protection but didn't fit my backpack

it does work and protects the lense and provides gimbal support.Unfortunately, I had to return it as it doesnt fit into my DJI hardshell backpack, as the foam of the backpack is cut perfectly for the camera/gimbal and there isn't much room left....

Great idea and I've seen people use it, however the one I just received is too tight around the body of the camera... Way to difficult to deal with this way.

If you own a Phantom 3, you absolutely need this.  It fits perfectly, keeps the gimbal completely stable, and offers some protection to the camera lens.  It is much easier to install than the factory gimbal clamp, which in my opinion, is ridiculous.
