Accurate, easy to use for basic measurement... you'll need the manual for complex functions
I bought this for a garage organization project to ensure I bought as much pallet racking as I could fit, but no more. It's a struggle to singlehandedly measure garage widths and depths across shelves, bins, etc. Yes, I could have emptied the garage... after a couple hours of effort... but then I'd just measure the dimensions and then have to spend a couple more hours putting everything back before ordering the needed racks. So, I found this laser measurement tool (LMT) on Amazon and selected it over others after comparing prices and features. Most of these LMTs have similar functionality, with the differences being additional complex area and volume functions or distance capabilities. Most residential home users will never have a need to measure 50 meters or more. This specific LMT combined the best specs with the best feature set at one of the lowest prices... and it had good reviews. I used mine to measure the specific dimensions of my 3-car garage, with a short third stall that has a 4' deep alcove near the door. I found a tape measure was better for measuring the dimensions of things, like my generator, my rolling tool chest, my ATVs and motorcycles, but the LMT made measuring the complete garage dimensions super fast and easy. I used the information to build a layout of the garage, and of each major thing I need to store (cars, ATVs, motorcycles, etc.) so I could experiment with how I would position shelves and things to get it all to fit, and to ensure enough room for a 4-post parking lift. This thing is a steal for under $20. If you need to measure distances under 50 meters quickly, without requiring a helper, don't even think, just click on the buy it now button. You won't be sorry.

Great and Accurate.
Easy to use, accurate, multiple features, very light, instructions are clear to understand the area calculations, and it’s very good size.

Perfect for my unusual application
I had an unusual need. There is a 12ft in diameter, hand dug well on my property. The well is covered with a solid top which has a 2inch hole in the top. The well is to be used as part of a study of the ground water on the island where I live. In that regard I needed a way to measure with accuracy the level of the water in the well and its daily fluctuations over a year. A typical device for measuring the water in a well like this would cost between a few hundred dollars to more than a thousand dollars. I did not want to pay that much. I bought this device hoping that I could point it into the well from the top and it would provide an accurate distance reading to the surface of the water. I was not sure if it would actually measure to the surface of the water or if the laser would penetrate the water and measure to the bottom of the well. If it measured to the bottom of the well it would be useless for collecting data for the study. But at this price I felt I could afford to test it and find out. To my pleasant surprise the device gives me accurate (to the 16th of an inch) readings to the surface of the water so that I can record the level of the water in the well as it fluctuates over the seasons. By the way, it also makes accurate measurements of the square and cubic footage of rooms in my house and any distance from a few inches to 90 feet (that's as far as I've tested it) to a 16th of an inch. Solidly built, excellent measuring device and a great bargain compared to brand name devices at much higher cost.

JUST AS GOOD AS THE MORE EXPENSIVE ONES!
I saw a home remodeler friend of mine using his device of this type and asked him how much they cost. 85 bucks was his answer. So went on Amazon and found this one that I could better afford. This one works just as well, and I have already satisfactorily used it several times preparatory to household projects. It sure beats trying to hold steady both ends of 10 feet of measuring tape!

Works well but you won't be measuring 100m with this!
This is highly accurate for the price and easy to use once you figure out the confusing interface. It also has some nice features for volume and m2 calculations. However, I specifically purchased this due to its claim that it will measure up to 100m. Unfortunately, in real world conditions inside with normal office style lighting you should plan on perhaps 20m or so. Outside in bright but indirect light the range goes down even further. Perhaps in pitch black with highly reflective markers (not included) you could get 100m but not under normal use! I did give it 3 stars vs 1 due to the very low price - if you are OK with 20m or less you may really like it.

Easy to Use, Worth the Money
After a short period of testing I have found the LM50 by Hanmatek to be as accurate, and as easy to use as other more costly options. Head to head with a Bosch Professional GLM20 both were dead on with distances of 5', 10' and 30' (+/- the margin of error.) I have made several measurements out to 163' with little trouble. The options for measuring sq ft, cube ft, and distances in hard to get to locations using pythagorean measurement options, as well as addition and subtraction functions are ease to use. I found the addition function very useful when measuring a path for running cable in a large apartment building. Adding all the legs together as I went through the building allowed me to make quick measurements of the total distance needed even when there was not a straight path from one end to the other. The memory function is not as intuitive as one might like, but with a little practice I found the function useful for saving measurements for later review. My first impressions of the product are favorable and I would be willing to recommend the LM50 to anyone interested in a laser measuring device. The distance of 165ft/50m is more that enough for most home owner or contractors.

Fantastic no contact laser distance tool. Accuarate, easy to use, low cost.
This was my first laser distance meter and I am very impressed. It is every bit as accurate as ability to read a tape measure at the 1/8" resolution which surprised me. At the low cost, I bought a few and put them in our various tool kit stashes. I like the "addative" measurement, and the area tool. I will say it has more features than I can remember how to use but for the stuff I want/ need to use I can easly grab it, turn it on and use it even if I haven't seen or used it in awhile. This is for a heavy home user with lots of projects. If I were still in construction for a living... I'd buy a name brand for durability but I have no concerns with this unit for my use.
