but I expected better quality control from a company
I have a 1989 BMW, and I've had 2 of these that came apart, and I change oil every 2,000 miles (to be fair, I've also had Mahle that worked fine). I've now converted to Mann, and have had no trouble with that brand at all. Perhaps there was simply a "bad batch" that were made, but I expected better quality control from a company, such as Mahle, with such a good reputation.
