Great torque wrench
Good USA quality. Best quality money can buy.

Good tool for my timing belt job.
I purchased this tool to use to torque the idlers and guides when I changed the timing belt on my 2003 WRX. I needed a wrench that went down to 8 ft. lbs. and up to 29 ft. lbs. This one fit the bill. Converting from inch pounds to foot pounds was easy. Just multiply the ft.lbs. by 12 and there you go. I also wanted a torque wrench that would be accurate but would also not need to be calibrated like the clicker types. I decided on this torque wrench due to research I had done on different styles of torque wrenches. This one is well made, had a solid feel and works very well. While I know that a clicker type is easier, I felt better being able to see the torque value change as I applied pressure.

Good quality torque wrench
I have had many issues with the click style torque wrenches and decided to try this one. Pros: 1. No click adjustments just turn until you hit desired torque. 2. You can visually see torque increase from zero to desired value. Makes it less likely to over torque. 3. Hand position does not affect torque like some other wrenches. 4. Made in USA with calibrated/tested accuracy. In other words, No China garbage calibration Cons: 1. Dial only has inch-pounds. Would be nice if there was a dual scale showing N-m also. 2. No ratcheting mechanism. 3. You have to be able to see the dial when tightening. If the bolt is in a tight location you might not have access to view the dial.

Easy to use
Can't really speak to accuracy but it felt right. Just finished using this to change the plugs on the Mrs. 2013 Corolla. Previously I had always tightened plugs by feel but I'm glad I purchased the torque wrench. The dial type lets the progression of the force applied be continuously seen as opposed to waiting for a click.. and there is no spring to worry about. Click type wrenches are set by twisting the handle to load a spring which in turn sets the target force. If after use the handle isn't untwisted, the spring remains loaded and if left loaded for long periods the calibration is ruined. The scale is in Inch / LBS. The Corolla plugs require 14 FT / LBS To convert from Inch / Pounds to Ft / Pounds multiply by 12 14 Ft Lbs * 12 = 168 Inch Lbs (Easy!) The only things to be aware of (see photo) The scale rotates using the outer dial, be sure to set it to 0 before starting to torque. There is a separate black needle that I took to be the target pointer. I set it to 168 Inch LBS and thought all was good. But as strength is applied, the force needle bounces a little and when it got close to the target needle, a bounce of the force needle caused the target needle to move. The 168 target was now 170+, so the black needle is OK for getting close but ultimately is more of a max force applied pointer. Be sure to 0 the scale before applying torque and pay attention to the force reading as measured against the scale and all is well.

SUPER QUALITY TOOL 👍
These are excellent for setting pinion preload! I bought this mainly for brake caliper torquing. I’ve always used a torque wrench for caliper brackets, but the famous calibrated elbow technique for calipers/hand tight. Now no more guessing!✅
