Forever Black Bumper & Trim 6oz is a professional-grade, permanent dye that restores and protects black plastic, vinyl, and rubber trim on vehicles. Unlike silicone-based products, it penetrates and recolors surfaces with manufacturer-grade polymers, offering a durable, dust-resistant, and UV-protected finish. Environmentally safe and quick-drying, it delivers a deep, even black that lasts up to two years, making it the top choice for millennial professionals who demand lasting quality and a sleek, refreshed look.

## Description

The permanent solution to sun-faded bumpers and trim moldings. Forever Black restores a dark, black, finish on sun-faded bumpers and body moldings. This is not a cosmetic dressing. It's an easy-to-use permanent dye. It permanently dyes all textured black plastic, rubber and vinyl with the same polymers that the manufacturers use. It is not a silicone dressing - silicone products will make plastic, vinyl and rubber appear to have regained their color but the change is temporary. Plus, silicone oils have been known to dry out the applied areas creating a bigger problem. Silicone also tends to leave a greasy residue even after buffing. Use on: Bumpers, Wheel Wells, Moldings, Side Moldings, Mud Guards, Door Handles, Spoilers, Mirrors, Boat and RV Trim, Running Boards Permanently recolors and protects all black plastic, vinyl & rubber surfaces on your car without silicone Environmentally safe and dries in minutes Water resistant and won't attract dust Protects against UV damage Forever BLACKTM Bumper & Trim Reconditioner has become America's #1 choice for restoring black bumpers & trim. Permanently recolor and protect all black plastic, vinyl & rubber surfaces on your car without silicone. We use the same chemicals that the manufacturers use. This product does not attract dust. Protects against U.V. damage.

Review: It works good - Bring your bumpers and trim back to life. Easy to apply works incredible. First time I used it, just pushing two years before I had to reapply.
Review: 1 Application 2 Years Ago, Still Looks Great! - UPDATE 21 Months After Application, 5/28/20: I have never reapplied and it still looks great! I'll bet if I reapplied now it might darken the black a little (the Florida sun and rain are brutal) but there's definitely not any visible fading at all - not patchy or streaky in the least. Just black trim still - amazing! Original Review, August 2018: Was Nervous But SO HAPPY with the Result! This is exactly what I've been wishing existed instead of the silicone crap I've always used! I am a person who reads way too many reviews before making a purchase, and especially did for this since I'm basically permanently painting the trim of my car and there's no room for "oops, I don't like this." But I was looking for something permanent, since the silicone application stuff never lasts more than a week in the Florida sun and rain. This definitely seems to be that! The product is like a very thin paint, kind of like ink. Be careful, it will absolutely paint anything it gets on, including the paint of your car, your hands, driveway, etc. But that's a good thing too - I used it on the bumpers, trim around the windows, running boards, door handles, and even the metal of my windshield wipers where it had worn and was showing silver through. This stuff goes on anything. My Nissan Xterra's trim was originally GREY, not even black, but now that I'm done it's a gorgeous, deep, even black like I bought all new trim pieces (which might have been easier, but much more expensive). I'm so happy with the way it looks! It did take a LOT of time, but I'm a perfectionist. I was worried about the streaking people warned about in the reviews, and when you're putting on the first and even the second coat you definitely can see the brush strokes, but when it cures after a day or two you can't see them anymore. I did put on two coats all over and still have more than half of this 6oz bottle left. I didn't believe it would go so far on my big SUV, even after reading that in reviews, but it's true. Some application tips: 1. Don't skip washing the car really well before application. I washed it thoroughly by hand using lots of dish soap, and there were still a couple of small places where the silicone stuff I applied 7 months ago hadn't come all the way out and the Forever Black couldn't penetrate as well. After it had time to cure a day or 2 they're barely noticeable and it still looks tons better than the old faded car I had before. 2. Block out the day to do it - it's a tedious project but well worth the time. Also, find a shady spot so it doesn't bake in before you can smooth it out. 3. Keep a few wet cloths around to clean up spots where you hit the paint of your car IMMEDIATELY. It WILL paint anything and everything black. It's also a great idea to mask off the areas with tape. I didn't do that, I used cardboard and a wide putty knife, and the wet cloths were still used quite a lot. 4. Pick one direction to apply the first coat and after it's dry apply the second coat the other way (left-right vs. up-down). This will help minimize the visible brush strokes. 5. Decide what details you are and aren't painting before you start - I got to the honeycomb grate on the front and realized I should have just left that whole area grey cause it was more trouble -and Q-tips- than it was worth. Also, now that I'm "done" I'm seeing that I need to go back and do the roof rack to match, which I didn't leave time for the first round. Obviously I love this product and I love my car even more now that it doesn't *look* like it's 15 years old! Now I just really hope it lasts through the brutal sun and daily hour of thunderstorms of the Florida summer. I'll update my review when/if it does.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How to remove? Dried too streaky....**
A: Sounds like you may not have applied enough of the procuct on the foam brush. Also, better to apply horizontally with overlapping strokes to a small area. I can tell you from experience that you will have to apply it more than twice to cover up streaked area. As far as removal you could try Goof Off and try a small area out of the way to see if it works. Don't use acetone or MEK because they will melt the plastic or rubber.

**Q: Can this be used on black matte iron cross bumpers?**
A: This plastic dye has a glossy or semi-glossy sheen. Not sure it will be a perfect match for matte black paint trim.

**Q: Could this be used in a hte paint sprat gun?**
A: It's not really a true paint. It is more like a black dye with added waxes and conditioners so it's pretty thick. You would have to thin it way down to get it to pass through the nozzel and by thinning it I would think that it would brake down its other characteristics that help with protection.

**Q: Will one bottle do my Avalanche without body molding?**
A: I would think so. One bottle did my whole vehicle...and I did two coats on most of it. It did the front and rear bumpers, rocker panel molding, door handles, and mirrors. A little goes a long way.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome product!!!
*by A***Y on December 3, 2024*

This is a 2006 Dodge Dakota that has been in the Florida sun for almost 20 years. The 2 before pictures look like the original color was gray but it's a faded black. The after photos are with 2 coats of this product, and it took between 30 and 40 minutes to mask and apply the 2 coats. It's very easy to apply as it is a stain and not any kind of paint. I would recommend applying each coat with the brush strokes in opposite directions. It cleans up easily with soap and water but I would definitely use a drop cloth. I'll probably give it one more coat tomorrow, but I'm perfectly happy if this is the final look. PS the clear headlights are also a DIY project with Meguiar's Two Step Headlight Restoration Kit also from Amazon.
