Why do these aquacheck  7 in 1 test strips not come in a sealed container?

It makes it easier to resell returned bottles in my opinion. My bottle arrived yesterday. I also found it odd that the bottle was not sealed unlike other brands 1/2 the price all sealed with expire dates clearly marked. The Aqua brand bottle did have the absorption thingie inside along with 2 strips clearly used previously, which was discovered as I counted to see if I had 100 strips - sure enough 87 + 2 used strips. This brand appears to be the most expensive on the market. I paid $23.38 ($21.99 + 1.39 tax) so that is $0.23 per strip! Pretty pricey, especially when shorted and defective strips. Additionally, I used two strips to compare and double check results with readings from my Taylor K2006 test kit. Results on 3-tests weren’t even close. Some of the Aqua tests bleed and get distorted. OK, I may sound negative and nit-picky, which I am not. 99% of the time I do positive reviews - - but need to add one last complaint, why would the seller carelessly put a sticker (SKU label) right over the directions? Makes me question the authentication of the product or some cheap China knock-off, just saying. Needless to say I am sending this bottle back and will continue using my Taylor test kit.

Can you use these for a salt waterpool??

Not to my knowledge in a true salt pool, only in a SWG pool.  They provide great reading for everything other than salt in your pool.  Funny, that you asked since I'm converting to a SWG in Spring 2015 and was wondering the same thing myself.  Personally, a SWG is the same as a Chlorine chemical additive pool, just does it different, so readings should be the same using these.  Only thing missing is Salt Content which I plan on using a separate test for.  It covers all the areas beside lets us see the CYA level, Cyanuric Acid - Conditioner, or Stabilizer, is since... SWG pools generate only chlorine.  Hope this helped.
