So, this all in one item is great for him to use but the best part is that it is light and folds up. It's very easy to clean, too. I have actually purchase two of these. One for my house and one for my sister for when we visit. Although a little higher price than I would like to pay for a potty training seat, it will get a lot more use and last a lot longer than any of the other ones that I have purchased! Not a lot to it. But it has been a life saver! I have a son with special needs and he's pretty tiny. I'm trying to get him to potty train or at least partially potty trained and he couldn't accomplish this on his own because he was too short. Nobody wants to empty a bucket into the toilet that is required of regular training seats. And the seats without a step require a stool which isn't always in the bathroom to make it easy. This is perfect. I find it sturdy for my kiddos. Both my sons that are potty learning can use it on their own. It doesn't fit perfectly in my toilet "hole" but it doesn't affect the way it works. It just has a slight angle to it. The handles have a soft grip on them and there is a bit of rubbery traction on the feet so it doesn't slip. It fits right beside my toilet between the toilet and tub perfectly when not in use (folds like a folding chair). We love it! I wish I'd had one for my older kids. My only concern and I'm not sure what the actual cause is....is the seat. It's nice and soft and looks comfortable. But I've seen elsewhere online where some soft seats are causing rashes on kids. My son has a rash on his bum right where the seat touches. It could also be because his fragile skin is just now exposed to air all the time and it's having to toughen up from being "sheltered" in a diaper for 2.5 years. My older son that uses it is still in pull ups for the majority of the time. His skin isn't red from the use, however the pull-ups also do not cause a rash on my older son and they do on the younger so it might be that his skin is more sensitive to plastic materials. I'm hopeful that the rash will clear once his skin adjusts and that the potty seat will go on with use for a while until they are taller.
