One set had a defective candle which only the flicker flame moved and the light did not work. Amazon approved my return. The other set I bought I kept, reluctantly. I am not happy with a couple of things. The flicker is not random. It blinks rhythmically about every second and at least to me it is so predictable that it is unappealing. Also, when you use the remote to turn them on (and you display them together) they all flicker at precisely the same time. Again, this is not realistic. When I used the remote even a foot away, only some of the candles responded. I had to get closer to some of them to get them to respond. 'Kind of defeats the purpose of a remote.... The other thing I don't like is that they are 2.2" wide. They look anemic. Just not a big enough width and a very odd size. That is my fault for not paying attention to the description. But seriously, the width is odd and not what most of us are used to seeing for pillar candles. All in all, for $7.20 a piece, they are not worth the money. They are just lovely! Turning them on and off by a little remote control is so cool! I Don't have to worry about leaving the room with them "lit", forgetting to "blow" them out or getting wax drips on furniture! I just love them. I plan to order more! Also, I have recently read an artlicle about all candles that are not made of either soy or beeswax that was very informative. From tea lights to Yankee candles, the fumes they put off are more toxic than breathing cigarette smoke. Look it up for yourself, it's true. Candles are not safe or healthy.I forgot to say, this seller is very conscientious, honest and a complete pleasure to deal with! But luckily these all worked great and they were less expensive!!! I am going to look for the shorter wider width ones and will definitely stick to this company for all my candles. They also have the remote control. I am glad they have good quality control. It is very disappointing to get merchandise that does not work. They are taller and thinner but will be nice height to mix in with other decor in a dining room table or coffee table.
